Being asked for Directions on Exam Results Day. Is this the road to London?

We have been through the Mill.  The emotional wringer that is results day.  The A level results.  The good friends screaming 'let me out',  David Bowie Under Pressure, really did say it all.  What a hellish day.  Distraught teenagers/young men having their dreams and aspirations dashed with the stroke of an examiner's pen.

The information leaked out slowly as news of students getting their grades and my son knew he had his place at Southampton from the UCAS site, but it doesn't say what grades he achieved.  So, first thing in the morning he went to his old school and waited for the results to be released at 10.30.

I went for a walk for some fresh air and a bit of exercise, to clear my mind and prepare for the decisions that we may have needed to make.  Walking along, mainly minding my own business, a car driver wound his window down

'127?'

'the A127, the road to London'.

Yes, I knew where he needed to go to get on to the 127.  I pointed the way,  I explained he needed to go through two sets of traffic lights and there it would be, the main road.

He drove off, quite secure in the knowledge he was at least headed in the right direction.  I went home, happy that I have been reminded that all our paths are laid out for us, all we have to do is follow the signs.

Lots of love and light to everyone who needs it.
