Appreciation and self-love are the most important tools that you could ever nurture. Appreciation of others, and the appreciation of yourself is the closest vibrational match to your Source Energy of anything that we've ever witnessed anywhere in the Universe.

---Abraham

Hello Blogger,

I am really trying not to start all of my blogs with 'sorry, I haven't been able to blog...' I know it sounds like an excuse, but I have generally been unable to blog.

As I have blogged before, not because my favourite nudges from spirit haven't happened, but because I haven't written them down.

The coincidental numbers, animals, crowing birds, wrong telephone numbers and all sorts of amazing messages which have come to me directly, have still carried on. As usual, I have been reminded that the clearer our own channel, the easier it is for us to notice the signs and messages from spirit.

A lovely poem I have been given. So, to share it with you blogger, here it is:

Share the Joy
by
John Ryan

Each human life's a Universe
Complete in its own right.
We hold within the tools we need
To help us fight the fight,
To walk the walk and talk the talk,
Just look within, you'll see
That all souls are connected,
And set your spirit free.

For once we know the soul lives on,
When earthly life is done,
That fear of death just melts away.
Our new life has begun.
Our loved ones wait for us on high,
They're near us every day.
We have to pass this message on,
As we go on our way.

I do this in my daily life,
And when some people feel
There must be something more to life.
I tell them spirit's real.
I do it to bring comfort,
And share my sense of peace.
Belief in life eternal
Brings all of us release.

The trials of the material world
Are something we must bear,
But joy and hope can reach us all,
That's something we can share.
Please search within to find yourself,
And you'll find God there too.
And share the joy with all the world,
It's what we're here to do.

How Sweet the Yield

How Sweet the Yield
from
a Fertile Field

The farmer ploughs through
the fields of green
And the blade of the plough
is sharp and keen,
But the seed must be sown
to bring forth grain,
For nothing is born
without suffering and pain -
And God never ploughs
in the soul of man
Without intention
and purpose and plan,
So whenever you feel
the plough's sharp blade
Let not your heart
be sorely afraid
For, like the farmer,
God chooses a field
From which He expects
an excellent yield -
So rejoice though your heart
is broken in two,
God seeks to bring forth
a rich harvest in you.

Surprising coincidence

Can there be such a thing as an unexpected coincidence, or even an expected coincidence?

I found myself pondering this wonderful world of ours, full of synchronicity and wonder and remembered that it is the meaning of the coincidence for the person having the experience that really matters.

Perhaps it is because I have been noticing coincidence for so long, not giving events added meaning for the sake of it, but just noticing and recognising when the pieces of our non-physical jigsaw seem to fit together so well.  When you consider how magnificent life is, and how complicated and at the same time awe inspiring, it can be of no surprise that there has to be some semblence of structure. I believe the coincidences are where the seams can be seen.  Life isn't seamless, it is messy and apparently unstructured, but when coincidences show up to blow our socks off, I enjoy those occasions.  For people reading about coincidences that happen for other people, they may not feel the meaning as deeply, it is highly probable that they won't feel anything at all, until something happens to them.

It is the personal experience of coincidence which brings meaning to the events, the names, the numbers, the places, the shared personal history and recognition of a connection on a greater level than we, as mere mortals, are destined to understand.  It is with a sense of destiny, a precognition, an admission of spirit or something greater than ourselves that coincidence comes knocking.

I love the simple coincidences, the easy ones, the unsurprising, like finding out a co-worker went to the same school as us, I also love uncovering the more surprising, like finding out we share a birthday with the same co-worker or our parents were married on the same day. Most of all I love the coincidences that are out of this world unexpected and too big to be written off as having no meaning.  It is to this end that I continue on my quest to enjoy all the coincidences that come my way and know that every action, word, thought and deed goes out there into the Universe, to be used as material for lives we know not when and we know not by whom, but we do know that nothing is wasted.

Lots of love and light to everyone who needs it.

Quietly shining a light

You know how we learn about ourselves from other people?  Watching and learning, observing the traits we would like to have and recognising the personality components which are less agreeable to us.  I am at the point in my personal development when I notice a behaviour about someone else, no matter what it is, or how I am perceiving it, I am aware that the observation has come from me, and my mindset, my set of foibles and personality characteristics are being highlighted for me in the people that I am attracting into my world.

People who are behaving as I behave and I may like it, or not like it.  People who are behaving in a way that I used to behave, to remind me how far I have travelled on my own personal journey. And I like it. I enjoy seeing human nature in all the glory/frailty that comes from having a temporary experience.

We are all having a temporary experience.  We live, we grow, we die.  What goes on in the middle is the important bit.  Some of us are here to help, some of us are here to be helped, most of us are here for a combination of the two.  The Helpers and the Helpees!  A little Beatle song springs to mind.  It is the same with learning. Some of us are here to learn, some of us are here to teach, all of us will be learning, even those of us who are teaching.

I have been reminded this week to pay attention to my motives when I tell people about the work that I have done.  Not the work with Avon, or work looking for a job, but the spiritual work.  I have two ways of looking at sharing my spiritual good works news and I have discovered there is a balance to be found.

Firstly, the desire to let people know that I have had an opportunity to help!  Yay!  Secondly, the desire to let people know that I knew what to do to help!  Yay!  This desire to shout about good works and having people pat you on the back, praise from your peer members and man (not God) is really not the way forward. For two reasons. Firstly, the praise you get from peers and man is not everlasting, it is empty and shallow, secondly shouting about what you have done is payment.  That is it.  There is no spiritual growth or spiritual treasure coming your way as payment for something which you have been shouting about!

The justification for re-telling stories about things that have happened comes from the commitment to spreading the news and helping other people have ideas as to where they can help. Not to mention being in awe of the synchronicity and coincidences which have to come about, for people to be in the right place at the right time to be able to help.

So, although I believe that my spiritual fortune is building in a small treasure chest in the afterlife, I risk spending it on shouting about my life experiences, not for praise or glory, but from the point of view of spreading the news and helping other people keep the faith on their path. If this costs me my spiritual wealth, then so be it.  But just in case I am spending all my spiritual store, I will try not to share every small act of goodwill that passes from me! This is the balance. Learning to share what can be helpful, purely because it can be helpful and help another soul, and keeping to yourself (or myself) any information which can be of little or no benefit to others, and can only serve to hinder the progress of the soul about whom I am writing.  Are you with me?  Some information is not made for sharing.  I am currently learning to deduce which information is for  public fodder and which is best kept secret.  It is all well and good to try and be a shining example, but sometimes works done in secret are more effective than those that are blabbed about!

Lots of love and light to everyone who needs it.

Coincidental meetings. Paths that cross for a reason.

Have you seen the film with Matt Damon, The Adjustment Bureau?  A lovely little film which delves into the lives of Guardian Angels as they try and steer us in the right direction on our daily paths.

It is so hard to imagine that there is a higher intelligence organising and orchestrating our every move, but when synchronicity unfolds in front of you, it is harder to deny.  Seeing it for yourself, a series of events, a set of circumstances that had to happen for you to bump into someone you know, the feeling of something happening because it was meant to, becomes easier to believe.

This is what happens to me and I love the coincidence of bumping into someone unexpectedly, and knowing that our paths were meant to cross.  Often the reason does not become clear at the time, and that is fine, sometimes communication between people happens at a level of which we are not aware ourselves.

One of my friends was meant to be going away for the week, but due to unforeseen circumstances, her trip was cancelled.  Leaving her free for the week and at a loose end.  Off we went, into town, a little browse, some shopping and naturally a coincidental meeting with people we didn't expect to see.

Walking along, having just bumped into my friend's ex-work colleague and having had a conversation in a Supermarket car park, the pair of them enjoyed a little catch up.  Words were spoken, pleasantries exchanged and a real-life interaction took place.  Did I mention the free parking?  The parking meter was out of order in Sainsburys!  yay for free parking!  Leaving us free to stroll about without having to keep one eye on the parking meter.

My friend put her landlord's prescription in, her good deed for the day, as we left the chemist, I saw another old friend in a little world of  her own outside the shop.  160,000 people in this town and I am standing with two of them, who also know each other!  It has been three years, nothing has changed. We have all got older, wiser, fatter and with teenage children there is just the question of our own careers to chat about.  Well, my old friend works with Learning Disabilities care homes.  So does my friend I am shopping with.  Turns out, they work for the same Home and yet their paths have never crossed.  It took a trip to town and a coincidental meeting to uncover the synchronicity of their lives.

Lots of love and light to everyone who needs it.

The Kaleidoscope of Life. Sometimes the pattern is obvious.

I keep learning things.  I am glad that I am open to learning things.  If the day comes when I think I have learnt enough, I will be very sad.  No, in fact I know that will never happen, because I have already realised that this short little life we are in the middle of, is not enough to learn everything.

We can never know it all, we can never do it all or have it all.  We can only learn the bits that we are able to. Whether it is the bit about how to survive in the big wide world. The bit about how to be a parent without totally screwing your child up.  The bit about how to do successful relationships, friends, Romans, Countrymen....this is starting to sounds like a speech...

There are so many areas of life and things to learn, the world is a kaleidoscope of information and knowledge.  Twisting the kaleidoscope of life and we find a pattern we prefer.  We stick. The colours fall anyway.  Life is like a kaleidoscope, one minute we are in control and in charge and the next we just have to shake it all up and see where the colours fall.

In our little life at the moment, I would say that we are in the middle of a 'shaker'.  A short period of Limbo.  No mans land if you will. The wait for the exam results to see what the future holds.  The future is as yet unwritten.  Words of a song spring to mind 'no-one else can do it for you....feel the rain upon your skin...'  yes, that is how the story goes.   Personal experience, personal growth.  It is something that we can never have too much of.  I have heard that you can have too much of a 'good' thing, but I guess people who say that, really don't mean 'good', they mean 'bad'.

So it is, as I continue on my daily travels, I have a sense of renewed gratitude that I am aware of how much I have learnt and how much there is to learn.  They also say that 'ignorance is bliss', I guess to a degree, ignorance, avoidance, denial, a rejection of any form of truth and reality is nowhere near bliss.  It is a lie.  A big, fat, lie.  I always believed that no matter how hard the truth it is better to know the truth than not to know it.  That used to be my mantra 'I would rather know the truth'.  I have learnt that I don't need to say it anymore. Saying it, doesn't make it true.  Anymore than the Law of Attraction will bring me material well being.  It is the belief of the Truth, the feeling behind the thoughts and words, that make it True.

I tap the Kaleidoscope of life and hold my breath waiting for the coloured beads to fall.

Lots of love and light to everyone who needs it.

Little You

Learning every day.  Every day there are things to learn. Not a day goes by when I don't learn something.

Travelling through life is a journey for our souls.  Personal Development is a wonderful example of how we all have the opportunity to grow.  There is always room for growth.  If ever life feels as if it is passing you by or there have been missed opportunities, remember, it is never too late for inner development.

Inner development is a massive term, what a generalisation.  Inner growth and development.  Learning about our own sense of who we are and how the external world reflects back to us what we are carrying on the inside.

Feeling good leads us to have healthy minds and bodies, healthy minds and bodies lead us to feeling good.  Feeling not so good therefore, surely must be detrimental to our health, both in body and mind.  Lifting our spirits to know that there is more to life than the drama currently in front of us, has got to be a helpful step.  This little person you are experiencing now, ie you, is not who you are.

Well, the identity of the person you know to be you, is you, but it is not JUST who you are.  You are part of a much bigger identity.  Your higher self, imagine, if you will, a giant you.  A Big You, who is watching every move you make as Little You.  This is what is going on for you as we speak.  Honestly.  You are just a very small version of yourself.  You may feel big, you may think that nothing could be bigger than you and you would be wrong.  There is a bigger version of you.  Knowing there is a bigger version of you looking down and watching your moves, does this help to know that  you are not on your own?  I don't know that it does.  It is like knowing there are Angels who watch over us.  Good, I am glad there are angels who watch over us, but I haven't got access to their power, so what good is that?  Huff.  Well, this is one of the points of personal development.  Learning to be small.  Knowing what limited power feels like.  yes, honestly, I know it can be frustrating to the point of excruciating.  This is one of the many reasons we have chosen our life experience.  So we can know what it feels like to be small.

So, no matter what your dress size, how much money you have in the bank, the size of the house you live in, nothing compares to your Higher Self and your ability to grow by giving back and loving as much of it as you can.

Love and light to everyone who needs it.

An exam to revise for and a new book! Past lives and Astrology

Oh yeah!  I have found a book to love...forever.  Forever and ever Amen.  I had a little idea tinkering in the back of my mind that as human beings we do choose our life experiences before we incarnate.  We come from somewhere.  We don't just die and carry on in some sort of limbotastic netherworld. No, we have come from somewhere, we experience life, we go back from whence we came.

This is the nature of the cycle of life.  It isn't that we are born, we grow up, we live, we grow old, we die.  We experience life and then we do it all again.  Only there is a lot more to it than that.

We want the experiences of life. No matter how crappy they may feel when we get here.  We have asked for these challenges, these hurdles, the little hiccoughs that turned into mountains.  You know the ones.  A full-time job turns into a part-time job that allows us time to study for exams that leads us up a hill steeper than Everest.  I digress.  My beautiful book that I have found in the library:

Patterns of the Past.  The Birthchart, Karma and Reincarnation by Judy Hall.

This book reiterates exactly what I have been thinking.  Yes, we choose to incarnate.  We choose to re-incarnate.  The effect of astrology on our daily lives is real.  The planets move like clockwork, bringing timing for external pressures and events that are of our choosing.  It is our ability to overcome the situations we are faced with that will affect our soul development, one way or the other.

Fabulous, I loved reading this book, and I am supposed to be studying for an exam.  Here is my challenge, as regular as clockwork.  I have set myself a course, there is a deadline, one thing will lead to another and yet, I am presented with a diversion. My challenge is to stay on the straight and narrow and stick to reading and revising the material I have been working on all year.  Did I manage it?  No, I didn't.  I digressed long enough to write two blogs and read the book about Patterns of the Past!

I have learnt that this situation I am faced with is part of the challenge of my whole life purpose!  Learning to follow through on regular steps, that many people have stepped on before me, will lead to my destination.  There are no short cuts.  I cannot buy a BSc to write after my name. There is only one way to get one and trips to the library to find books about past lives are not part of the plan!

If you are looking for an extremely interesting read this summer, look no further than checking your Karma from previous lives and the effects of Astrology on your current life experience.

Love and light to everyone who needs it.  I AM off to revise now.

If the Law of Attraction were true...

More activity and events that may or may not be good.  You know, the idea that when an 'event' happens and everyone jumps up and down and says 'yay' that is a good thing.  That very same thing turns out to be the pivotal point at when everything else then fell apart from.  Like a teenager learning to drive and everyone pats them on the back, only for them to go out and have an accident, not necessarily injuring themselves, but harming other people.  You get the picture.

I have an idea that as we are experiencing our lives we are learning and growing towards the next sign of the zodiac.   My analytical, Virgo mind used to take all events at face value, in the short-term and now I have learnt, or developed, to realise there is no end to the outcome.  The outcome of all situations is eternal.

Because this is such a massive idea, that all of our actions have repercussions that resonate not just today, or tomorrow, next week, next year, but also in our next life and the story we leave behind for our children, their children.  To consider such implications can render us inactive and passive in our approach to our behaviour.  In order to cope with our life experience, it is easier just to look at what is going on right here right now.  A wise person though does not take any event for granted or adds any emotion or reaction.  This, I guess is what sages call Attachment.  Being attached to the outcome of any life situation is almost guaranteed to bring either heartache and disappointment or the outcome will not be to our liking.

Another one of life's lessons I do believe is pretty much the opposite of the Law of Attraction.  By wanting and hoping for positive improvement, actually has the opposite effect.  The trick is to remain detached, to not be bothered about the outcome and to just take whatever comes your way philosophically.

If a belief is just a thought that you keep thinking, like the Law of Attraction, as appealing as the theory is, this does not make the belief true.  Is it true that if I believe that I am rich, I am rich, I am rich...often enough, I will become rich? No, thinking it and feeling it does not make it so. What it does do is put a person in a state of delusion and unreality.  This is not to say that in order to deal with reality, the best thing to do is get your wellies on and wade through the less than savoury mire created in this material world. No, the best thing you can do is enjoy as much of it as possible, live life with a light-heart, know that you asked for this experience before you came here and when apparently good things come to you, also know that you didn't just conjure them up, you didn't do something good to deserve them, they are just part of your life experience that you asked for before you came here.

Loving the mystery of life.

Love and light to everyone who needs it.

Signs and symbolism from nature. Playing the Game.

I go about my daily business on the Dark of the Moon with an awareness that by focusing on nature's messengers (in my case these range from anything furry with four legs to petals forming shapes on my path) I will be drawing my attention to things that are already there.

This is not the game.  The game is to communicate with the universe by just being aware of what is going on around you on a daily basis and to try and identify the hidden meaning or warning of some event whether joyful or sad or exciting or unexpected by reading the symbolism of your life.

You know the game, you do it every day.  The car starts first time, yay!  how wonderful, you head off on your journey without giving it a second thought.  A day comes when the car doesn't start, and you have a flat battery.  Time to re-charge your own batteries?    This is the game.  Interpreting life events as a reflection of what is going on for you personally, either physically, mentally, emotionally or spiritually.

Generally I think that electrical dysfunctions are usually problems that our minds are working on, usually needlessly, but all mind-related.  Unless it is the washing machine and there is water involved and then I take it as an emotional issue that needs looking at.

Everytime a lightbulb pops I cannot help but just think there is a little light gone out in someone's world, somewhere.  Usually it is someone I know and I do get to hear about it.

My journey today brought me a little trip to the Civic Centre to buy some garden waste bags.  As I walked up to the Civic, two crows landed in my path.  As I was taking their picture a young couple happened to walk up behind me pushing a buggy. I had a little chat with them, explaining it is really hard to get close to crows because they always fly away. Click. picture capture. fly away crows.  The young couple actually didn't look at me as if I am crazy, taking random pictures of wildlife on a busy main road. I explained that seeing crows is news that I will have something to crow about. Something to crow about.  They both laugh and the young lady explains that she has crows in her back garden all the time. I say they must be very fortunate!  They both laugh, no, this is not the case.  Okay then. I suggest it could be time for them to do the lotto.  Then I have an inkling that this is not for them and I am seeing the image of a horse.  'Or time to bet on the horses?'  they exchanged a look as if I must have been ear-wigging.  The young man explained they had literally just been having the conversation about how the thought had crossed his mind to go into a betting shop and put some money on a horse, and he hasn't done that for months.  We all laugh and I carry on my journey.  My journey takes me to the Civic.  No, no garden bags for £3.00. Not anymore.  Go to the library.

Of course, the Library.  Why didn't I think of that? the obvious place to purchase garden waste bags.  After the queue at the civic I go to the library and start queuing again. Who is in front of me? yes, the young couple.  Fortunately, we all have a little chuckle because our paths have crossed again, although I am starting to feel like a stalker.  £5.50 for garden bags from the library.  The grass had better slow down.

A trip to the shops, all the little things I need to make my life work, toothpaste, loo-roll, tin-foil. An item I couldn't find, a curtain pole which won't be in until after Saturday. Okay then, I guess the timing of that little journey will lead me to bumping into someone else to share some information.

On the way home I take a diversion, I decide that I haven't played the Universe game today and I will take a walk through the park to help the spirit game along, by visiting a place where there are birds, squirrels, dogs, robins, butterflies and all the things that I like to see.

Things that I expect to see in the park.  I expect to see at least one magpie, probably a crow, a squirrel, hopefully a robin and anything else nature intends for me to appreciate.  I walk through the park. Nothing. Not one little iota, apart from a pigeon.  So, I have a little mug of tea in the cafe and do some people watching.  Maybe the universe wants me to notice something different.  I am torn between paying attention and focusing on things I do want to see, and being open to experiencing new things.  So, after my tea and yes I admit it, a plate of chips (thinly disguised  with a tomato and some watercress, clearly to give the appearance of healthy eating), I decide to take a little stroll past the old monastery.

I sit at my favourite bench by a little circular pond and I decide that I will sit for 5 minutes.  I have given up waiting to see any of my usual messengers from nature and then I see movement in the pond.  There is a brown duck.  One singular duck.  I have never seen a duck in this circular pond before. It is news to me that the water is clean enough for a duck. The water and brown stuff floating on the top is a very similar colour to the brown duck.  I take some pictures and wonder at this new sight. Another thing I do is to use animals that I see to represent people who I know in real life.  So if I see a squirrel, I think of my son, if I see a tabby cat I think of me and everyone I know has an animal attributed to them.  So I wonder who this duck is.  The duck cleans itself and shows off some purple and green feathers, in fact it virtually bends over backwards to clean under some hard to get places.  Hm. Do I know someone who has to bend over backwards to get my attention?  Don't know.  This could be symbolic of a new person.

So, I leave the duck to enjoy the sunshine and I vaguely notice the pair of butterflies, a symbol of spiritual growth and happiness.  I step out from this chamber of flowers and peace into a wide open green expanse of grass. Where there is a crow sitting in the middle of the green.  I take a pic. Five seagulls are watching from the safety of the monastery roof. This is a regular spot for them, even though they are nowhere near the sea.  I take another pic.  I walk down some steps and a small  bird flies right across my eye line and perches on a branch, on my path. It is a robin. I literally have to take a step back away from it to take a pic. Now it seems, everywhere I step there is a creature from nature rushing out to greet me.  Another corner, another bird literally on my path. First a blackbird, then a magpie and then a man with his two dogs disturbs the magpie and so I head off in a direction away from the dog, in time to see a squirrel run out, spot me, and run up a tree.

I have a little laugh to myself.  I have walked through that park, looking for these things. They weren't there. They did not show themselves to me. Not until it was time for me to go. At the last possible minute, I see one thing after another. Perfect.

I walk home feeling lighter, in spite of the chips.

Just playing the game.

Love and light to everyone who needs it.

Nothing Good or Bad ever happens. It is all a question of perception.

Do you remember that old story about the 'maybe' little old man?  He was in a village with his son who had one disaster after another befall him and the neighbours would say to him...'that is awful..your son fell off his horse and broke his leg?' or whatever the current disaster was, and he would say 'maybe it is, maybe it isn't' and then war broke out and all the young men from the village went off to war, but his son couldn't go because he had a broken leg.

My point is, that whatever event happens in life, you can jump up and down rejoicing that it is a really fantastic thing to have happened and yet, eventually it may turn out to be the worst thing in the world. Equally, events such as divorce, redundancy or losing a car to a car crash, may well turn out to be one of the pivotal moments that were the best thing that could have ever happened.

This is why I have learnt not to count my chickens before they have hatched.  I know not to jump up and down at some apparent good news and I also know not to wail despairingly at apparent bad news.

Everything happens for a reason, timing is the key and when something is meant to happen for you, it will.

Have a lovely May everyone. I am spending mine studying for an exam at the beginning of June, helping my teenager who has an insane amount of exams in June and generally not rejoicing over the death of Osama Bin Laden, I have a feeling this is just another act of war that may stimulate all level of repercussion, or maybe not.

I will not be dwellling on any events, good or bad, I will be accepting everything that comes my way. Nothing that happens is good or bad, only the way we respond or react to it, makes it so.

In love and light

An astrological journey

It is not a new theory, reincarnation. The idea that we experience life after life after life.  It is one way for the soul to grow, expand and develop.

Nor is it a new idea that people born at certain times of the year have similar personality traits. You know, there are people who are deeply committed and loyal, or born leaders, some people are faster or slower than others.  Interestingly when you look at their date of birth, often it turns out they share the same zodiac sign.

Neither is the idea new that as we reincarnate our way through life after life, that we choose to experience different personality types.  One theory is that we experience being an Aries followed by a Taurus, Gemini, Cancerian, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarian, Capricorn, Aquarius and finally Pisces.

It is just an idea, just a theory, but it does make a lot of sense to me that as we enter our life experience, we are faced with obstacles of personality trait just as much as obstacles of a physical and material nature.    I do not know the 'rules', you know, whether you experience each sign once and keep going round the wheel of the zodiac until you have mastered them all or whether you keep being an Aries until you have overcome the excesses of that sign.

This makes sense to me because I have noticed that some people are born without ever experiencing certain stages of development, or getting stuck in Ego, whereas other people never seem to develop past the point of ME! ME ME ME ME ME ME!  Or as I now think of them Mimis.  People who love to talk about themselves, their stuff on and on and on.  Yes, you all know people like this.  Is it a character trait of a particular zodiac sign?

The idea that we are all here to experience stages of life for a our own personality development, this is what psychologists believe, that we go through stages of life to become fully integrated adults.  Personally, I feel that there are added personality traits which are not individual to each individual, but individual to whole groups of people.  So, a group of Aries people may well be here to learn patience.

Yes, of course patience is a desired state, but my argument is that some people are born patient and it is not something they ever have to struggle with.  Do you see my point?

I will try and find the areas of life that each sign struggles with and see if I can't make further sense of my little theory.  In the meantime, if you are facing a particular struggle at the moment, take a minute to reflect on people who you know, that you share your sign with and see if they have similar problems. To find someone who has overcome your issue I suspect you will have to look no further than one sign ahead.

To this end Pisces have overcome all the personality issues, I guess their main problem will be dealing with the rest of us!  Lol

Have a lovely sunny Easter Weekend, whatever you are doing xx

Leaving footprints with every step you take

Spirit communicates every day with us, sometimes we notice, sometimes we don't. Sometimes we respond to the communication and sometimes we ignore it.  Depending on what the message is.

A little spiritual nudge I have had in my world that I, personally, take as a reminder from spirit that there is a deeper meaning to life and there is more to this world than the eye can see.

Someone asks me the Way.  I am literally asked for directions.  In the strangest, most unexpected of places.

This for me, acts as a reminder, usually out of the blue and makes me laugh now because it happens so often I know that my spirit guides are having a little joke with me.  Not at me, or at my expense, but with me.  It is a shared joke that I enjoy.

I just felt like sharing something today, and this is what I choose to share.  When you are walking on your path and taking steps that you are unsure of, if you need guidance and advice, there will always be someone ahead of you who has walked the path you are on.  Each step you take leaves a footprint, for someone else to follow.

Make every step count, for you never know who could be following in your footsteps.

Love and light

To Complain or Not to Complain that is the Libra Full Moon Question

I am feeling the Full Moon in Libra.

Weighing and pondering a question.  Not knowing the answer.  Perhaps this is how it feels to be a Libra.  Personally, as a logical minded, clear-thinking Virgo I am happy to make decisions. Choice is Power.  Oh! the luxury of decision making.  If I could get paid to make decisions I would be in heaven.  This is how much I love making choices, knowing that choice brings change, which brings New, Novel,Interesting.  Not change for changes sake you understand, you know, like painting the hallway pink to relieve the beige. No, choices that will bring improvement.  Changes that will bring personal growth, spiritual understanding, steps in the right direction.

I find it easy to make Big Decisions.  I follow my own inner moral compass.  My inner compass is not aligned with material success. My decision making process is aligned with spiritual wealth, doing the 'right' thing spiritually and being the best human being that I know how to be.

It can be difficult to make choices that appear to be at the expense of material wealth when other people cannot see the spiritual wealth or long term benefit.  Many people come to that cross-roads in life, where they have to make a choice.  It is a difficult decision to choose to commit your own life path for the benefit of other people, regardless of where it takes you personally.  Once you have made that decision it is virtually impossible to undo it.  There is no going back.  Once you are aware of how much more there is in life than bricks, mortar, cash in the bank, the knowledge cannot be taken away.  Knowing  there is a greater person on the other side, who is you, helping you to grow and develop in small ways every day.

Learning to ignore the small annoyances and grievances, there are more important things in life to spend energy on than material concerns.

Developing patience, providing peace, love and understanding.   Qualities that cannot be bought.

Lots of love to everyone,  even the complaining variety xx

The Big Questions (Sunday morning t.v.)

I love the debate on the The Big Questions.  Today they brought in such extremists from all corners of the belief system.  There are the Evolutionists who can prove the earth has evolved and chihuahas have evolved from wolves (random shocker to prove evolution). The Creationists are liars who are hurting their children.  The Muslim extremist who thinks all men should have beards and those who haven't are lady faced faggots.  Nice. I love the Big Questions, but I am amazed that they can bring on someone who actually believes that people in Somalia who are guilty of adultery should be stoned to death.  I suppose extremist views make for interesting t.v. programmes, whereas if everyone understood other peoples point of view it could be a bit dull.

The Greek Orthodox scientist decided that as science explains the reality of our existence and the more we can prove to be true, so this will leave less room for a faith in God.

The woman of faith would not denounce the scientist.  Her love of God and belief that God created the evolution and the wonder of nature at its best serves to strengthen her knowledge that there must be an intelligent creator behind everything.

Looking at these people arguing about whether there is a God it is easy to see which one is having the better life, the woman of faith is positive, loving, kind, shining with a smiling heart, the man of science is hunched, closed, defeated by his own knowledge.

I know which one of those little humans I would rather be.  I love the strive for knowledge, the ability to search into fields unknown and shift some boundaries, if we knew everything about our worlds, life could get a little dull.

I look forward to being surprised by spirit in the form of coincidence and synchronicity, which, as far as I am aware, is yet to be explained by scientists as to how these minor miracles occur.

Love and light to everyone who needs it.

Comic Relief

The power of comic relief.  Funny works.  This is how people manage to get through the horror of knowing that children are starving in Africa, dying from malaria as their Mothers watch.  What is it for us to send £5.00?  really?  to be able to buy a malaria net and testing kits.

The distribution of wealth is stimulated by a Giant Red Nose.  t is all so ridiculous and simple.

I love red nose day. I love the people who use their celebrity and fame to encourage altruism and awareness.  The casting was brilliant.

There are Guardian Angels guiding all the shining stars.

I thank my Guardian Angel today that I am not living in Japan, or New Zealand or Africa.  I also thank all the people who gave their time so freely and raised a magnificent amount of money.

Altruism lives.

Spiritual lesson for today. Dealing with Envy

Every day is an opportunity for growth.  Every day is a chance to learn something about the spiritual vibration you are living on.  When I say 'you', I mean 'me' of course.  I can only share my experience and if you resonate with what I am learning, then great, if you can see where I am on my spiritual path, it means you have already covered my ground, also great, if you look at me and wonder what I am on about, then double great, it means you haven't dismissed me as being crazy quite yet.

I have loads of issues this week, spiritual issues, questions that keep coming up for me and other people I know.  For me the issue this week is groups.  A little group of spiritual mediums who work well together, go venturing into unknown territory, working on someone elses turf, in the name of spirit.  What happens? they are met with abuse from people who are also spiritual and working as mediums.  Hmm.  So, in the name of spirit, people can write nasty emails, speak harshly, use spiteful, slanderous words against poor unsuspecting mediums who have done nothing but show up and use their gift to help other people.

From the outside, looking in, it is so easy to see what has happened.  The vehemance which ensues, the backlash, the arguing, and everyone is in it.  There is no-one involved who can escape from this particular spiritual car crash, unscathed.

For me, being faced with people who are envious is a very difficult thing to do.  The envy is insidious to their nature, their vibration, it cannot be changed or transmuted by anything their target says or does.  The only envy that a person can transmute is their own.  The anti-dote to envy is empathy.  To empathise with the other persons situation from their point of view.

If you are suffering from Envy, which is a really painful, separating emotion, and you are unhappy feeling envious, the answer is to improve your ability to empathise.  If you are on the receiving end of Envy being maliciously directed at you personally, what can you do?  recognise the culprit, realise that envy is behind the other persons actions, send them love and light and if you want to point out their envious nature and bring the emotion into the light, then good luck with that.  Otherwise, the sensible thing to do is to walk away. Leave the envy with that person.  Strengthen your own feelings of warmth and love, be love, give love, share your gifts/talents/beauty/youth/health/money or whatever else it is that has evoked envy from someone else.

Remember, you would not have been given a talent or gift if you were not meant to use it.  Most of us have the power of speech, we can use our words to build others up or break others down.  The power is ours and the choice is for everyone to make.

Using words to build people up...

lots of love

Walking a spiritual path

This little life journey on earth is not an easy trip.  There are challenges, disasters, unforeseen crisis that befall everyone at some time or other.

When we look at other people and see that they do not appear to have any problems, no financial worries, no health issues, an easy life and wonder how that is possible.  Especially when their idea of self-development means eating healthy food, and having six holidays a year with little or no thought to the existence of people less well off than themselves.  It is easy to lose faith that there is any justice in the world, no spiritual justice, no fairness.

This may be true. While we are on earth we are given the power, the choices and our use or mis-use of the power we do have is written across our soul.  This is not something that comes to light while we are on the earth plane. It is not until we are in spirit that we are allowed to turn around and see ourselves in the role that we have played.

For people who are not aware of spirit and who really genuinely believe that once you die, that is it, gone, no more, it is not surprising that they exhibit greed and clawing, grasping traits.  It is not for us to judge, for, if we were in their shoes, believing in just this life experience, we too could become power-crazed and wanting to amass small fortunes by way of making our mark or to pass on to our children to put them in a position of power.

Rather than looking for proof that there is no spiritual justice, it is more useful for our own spiritual growth to recognise our personal development and working on our own inner world that is more important.

Remember that old saying about 'one mans meat is another mans poison'? - this phrase has just come to mind when it was not what I was going to write about, so I will just give it a mention.   One person may be experiencing financial well-being in this life in order to experience envy and jealousy from other people.  Why would anyone want to experience that?  well, by dealing with negativity from other people, transmuting those hurtful, hateful feelings is an opportunity for spiritual growth.  If there is someone in your world causing you pain, be grateful to them for playing their role.  Learn from the experience, and recognise where you are growing stronger on the inside with a deeper understanding of what you are doing here.  I do not mean stay in a relationship that is destroying you, or abusive, I am asking you to recognise where people are causing your pain to surface.  Emotions that are already lying dormant within you to rise to the surface.

Being grateful for the person who causes you to anger, be grateful for the anger, spiritual growth is under way, especially when you take a little time to look at what is really causing you to feel angry.  Often, it really has nothing to do with what the other person is doing, and more to do with what you are thinking about what the other person is doing!

Exploring life from the inside-out, this is the journey of life that we are meant to be on.  There is no spiritual reward for how much money you have saved, no growth from determining success based on the size of the property in which you live, the price of the car you drive.   Spiritual reward comes from energising your soul, knowing yourself, developing your own spiritual path that allows you to help other people.

If it is not helping other people in some way, however small, it is not part of your spiritual path.
(I will blog another time about our material path).

Lots of love and light to everyone who needs it

A return to spirit communication

I am recovering this blog just for spiritual work.  http://www.starsbytheirsigns.blogspot.com/ is where I now write about people in the news by their star sign.  Astrology is for fun, it is an interesting hobby but I do not think it is part of my spiritual path.

Spirit writing is my spiritual path.  Writing in communication with spirit and also writing about those experiences, where I can without breaking confidentiality of people who ask me for messages.

In recent weeks I have been 'off' my spirit writing; absorbed in a combination of limited computer access, ill-health and an obsession with astrology that has taken me off my beaten track.

This has been put to rights this week by a little trip to my local spiritualist church.  The medium was so sure of her stuff, so confident about the words she was being guided to speak.  I was amazed, at 4ft 11" she could just about reach up to the microphone, but with a booming voice, she really didn't need the mic.  Well-groomed hair, expensive clothes and manicured nails, she looked anything but spiritual and then she started to speak.  A lovely little chat about herself, her roots, how she had left home at a young age and experienced many ups and downs and a reminder, via the 'address' that she gave.

She said, often, people say to her "I used to have weird things happen to me, coincidences, and feathers appear, but now all that has stopped" and she would ask them
"what else have you got going on in your life?  a job to hold down?  a relationship to spend energy on? a house to run? children to organise?"
as she was listing all these commitments that most of us have, the audience started laughing and it was infectious, of course, it all made perfect sense.  How can anyone be open to spirit communication on a regular basis when their human life experience is full up already?

She went on to explain how some people veer off the path, lose interest, find other things to do, and yet they return to remember why they were on the path in the first place.

That is life.  The path is not straight, nor continuous, nor the same for everyone.  It is not the spiritual path that has gone anywhere, it is always there to return to, to revive, to bring back stronger than ever.

Whenever you feel like veering off your path, remember, that is okay.  You are doing your best, and no-one can ask anymore from you.  If you are doing your best and anyone wants to criticise you for what you are doing, they are asking you to give more than you have to give, and what sort of person does that make them?

Keeping the faith, peeps.

Love and light to everyone who needs it. x

Astrological star signs....the planets are out there

I have always been interested in Astrology.  I love the idea that being born at a certain time and date - not due to the calendar, but say, on a full moon in the middle of the year, or, on a new moon in spring...can have an effect on the influences on our souls during our lifetime.

Not because we have no power or choice over who we are.  Of course not.   It is just an awareness that the planets ARE there.  Of that there can be no doubt.    Although some scientists like to point out that the Moon is only there because you are looking at it.  Whether that is true or not, it is irrelevant.  It is like watching man trying to unravel Gods plan, and failing.  The whole point of having a life experience is to 'not remember'.  If we were designed to remember 'the plan'  there would be no challenge.  If the map was laid out before us each day, why would we choose to live it?

No, the true mystery of life is not meant to be unravelled, and even when scientists manage to prove their theory, as a human race we are destined to ignore them!

Life is a harsh environment, there is no doubt about that.  If it were easy and predictable, where would the growth come from?  The sense of satisfaction from overcoming a challenge?  Where would be the room to learn understanding, tolerance, kindness and perhaps most importantly, love.

For me, the challenges that come our way really have been given to us (by us) before we came to earth in this incarnation.  The higher intelligence, that belongs to us, and us to it, is so vast that it is virtually impossible for our tiny human brains to be able to see the whole picture.  Nor are we meant to.

The reason I like to follow the stars and watch for patterns in behaviour, is not to make life predictable, although sometimes that can be fun. But to recognise that we are all experiencing the human condition and to be able to show that during a Full Moon we all have different reactions, whether we are aware of it or not.  It is this awareness that can help us on our spiritual journey.  Knowing that during a Full Moon you may be less tolerant of others, or perhaps more open-hearted and philosophical, the Full Moon can be used as a key for you to delve into deeper parts of yourself that you may not previously have had access to.

The stars are a pointer, an astral map, not just of challenges coming our way, but as a guiding light to show us the way.

Lots of love to everyone, regardless of when you were born.
