Well, I was in a rush, of course, naturally, but I still put the idea 'out there'. I needed to get to Church on time. I haven't been to Church for six months because I have been working on a Wednesday. The Universe conspired to free me up on a Wednesday, I was trying to get to a Church which is roughly a mile and a half away, as well as fit in a damp report, which I was told would take about 30 minutes.
The damp report guy was due at 1.30pm, the church service began at 2.30pm. Can I rush the damp expert around, hoof it at full speed and get to church on time?
I put it out there. To the Universe. I attempted to picture the possibility of a speedy damp report, followed by a smooth journey to church, to get me there on time.
The damp expert called, tapped some walls, drew a map of the flat, had a chat. I chatted as little as possible, aware that I was trying to get him in and out in thirty minutes. Then he realised he had made an error in his map drawing. Inwardly groaning, outwardly looking at my watch, I sat patiently, waiting for him to re-draw the plan of the damp walls. Time was ticking.
Another little chat about why I don't do ballroom dancing, no, not my choice of topic of discussion, the damp expert is a regular ballroom king, led to me explaining I may not do ballroom, but I do like to go to church and how I was hoping to get there that afternoon. Guess who offered me a lift? That's right, the damp expert.
We had a lovely little journey in his car, he shared the coincidence of how he went on holiday from his home in Leigh on Sea to Sorento, only to get chatting in his hotel bar with a guy who also lives in Leigh on Sea.
I enjoyed the coincidence and I thanked the Universe for sending me an unexpected lift to Church.
Lots of love and light to everyone who needs it.

Cast your bread upon the waters
Another day at the mill blogger. It was with weary feet, a heavy heart and an angst filled mind that found me walking home, in a world of my own, planning and thinking creatively about the next steps surrounding my self-employed idea. There I was, carrying shopping, making the load lighter by attempting not to think about it when I noticed a woman on a bicycle smiling at me. It was someone I know, heading on her way to work. Lovely. We stopped and shared notes, little snippets of our progress in this material world we are wading through.
Since I made a blogger promise to write about the social interactions where something unusual or meaningful is said, because I feel it is where spirit are using either party to bring a little hope, some words of encouragement whether otherwise there may have been despair, I will share with you blogger the words she said to me.
After some discussion about my attempts at self-employment and how I have a new business idea, she said my Granddad used to say "cast your bread upon the waters and some of it may come back buttered".
It did make me chuckle, what a wonderful saying, and what perfect timing for me to hear it. Thank you to my friend's granddad for his words of wisdom from beyond the grave.
Lots of love and light to everyone who needs it.

An abandoned bike and a request for money for bus fare.
Some strange sights on my travels yesterday blogger. Firstly, I was traipsing home from Southend after a psychometric online testing at the Government Work Programme and I saw a man abandon his bike in a hedge. Yes, just abandon it. He had been trying to ride it, but it had a puncture. You know when the tyre actually comes off the wheel? That. He just gave up.
I found it quite astounding that he would abandon his whole bike just because of one tyre that needed mending.
It also crossed my mind to help myself to his bike, but I had second thoughts, in case he had second thoughts and turned round and caught me taking it. So I didn't.
I did feel as if I was in one of those tv programmes, you know, the Eye Spy type programme by Stephen Fry, the one where the hidden cameras catch people taking bicycles. So I continued up the road, minding my own business.
No more than a few metres along and another man approached me. He gave me a sob story about how his car had broken down and he hadn't been let on a bus because he didn't have £3.50. He showed me his iphone and a set of car keys (no broken down car to be seen) as if to prove he has money 'Do I look like a vagrant?' he asked. Well, now you ask...
I had trouble keeping a straight face as I explained he had asked someone without funds and if I was in a position to help, I would. I pointed him in the direction of Sally's Curiosity Shop, nice people, who really should have more access to funds than I have got.
What did I take away from this interaction? I have learnt to recognise a person who is trying it on. I would say he didn't have a broken down car and getting people to part with a few quid is easier than asking for tenners.
On a metaphysical level, is the Universe telling me to tidy up my appearance and the message is, money goes to money, birds of a feather flock together, no-one employs people who aren't already working. It is the same old story. The Law of Attraction, if you haven't got money, you have no hope of attracting any. If you haven't got love, how are you going to get anyone to offer you love if you aren't offering anything back? Yes, love is easy to get, it grows from within. Money, however is a commodity which doesn't grow on trees, needs to be treated with respect and definitely doesn't need to be given away to pay for someone else's bus fare.
Lots of love and light to everyone who needs it.

Coincidental names keep us going through a shopping trip
A couple of coincidental names have shown up for me this weekend. Which my son insists is just a coincidence. There is no link. It doesn't mean anything. Okay then, I tell him. At twenty years of age, he is entitled to his opinion. I don't force my ideas down his throat. I sometimes don't even point them out to him, because I know he isn't interested. And yet, still, whenever we are out and about together, which, at his age, isn't very often, these coincidences show up.
It makes me laugh, he doesn't enjoy it so much, because he knows I apply meaning to something which he feels is just clutching at straws in an attempt to make meaning out of chaos.
Anyway, to cut a long story short, I went and volunteered at the charity shop, the lady who has helped me and trained me in the ways of this latest venture is called Mary. Naturally, I warmed to her immediately, she shares an old family name, on my Dad's side of the family. I acknowledge the coincidence in my mind and carry on regardless. I am in the right place at the right time to either be learning something or teaching someone else something, either way it is a win win.
The Saturday afternoon before a Sunday wedding saw my twenty year old in need of a present and a card to take to his Uncle's wedding in the morning. I took the opportunity to offer to take a trip into town with my six foot son who is usually too fast for me to keep up with, stretching his giraffe like legs to get everywhere he walks as soon as possible. My son agreed that we should both head to town and find wedding stuff. Clearly, he was thinking that the shopping for a gift would be easier if I was in tow. Nice to know I still have my uses.
The walk was slower than he was anticipating, my 46 year old legs just aren't as fast as they used to be and I have learnt to pace myself. So, we had 2.2. miles to have a little chat about nothing in particular. We had a laugh about my son meeting up with his old school friends, who have all gone to different Universities, my son told me something particularly amusing about someone he knows, Toby his name is. I haven't met him, he is not someone I have heard much about, but the story amuses him and therefore it amuses me. I enjoy the company of my son in cheerful mood and I also take advantage of the walking situation to suggest a trip to Specsavers, for new glasses.
This is something my son usually has to be cajoled into, it is not somewhere he will go willingly, a) hates queueing b) hates any form of chores c) dislikes shopping. For my son, new glasses, a bit of admin and finding new frames, discussing lense types in a busy shop falls into all of these categories. We manage it, really, quite painlessly. I am hopeful we can get in and out in less than an hour. Their printer isn't working, the frames he has chosen aren't compatible with his lens type, the specsaver's employee is v.patient with us both and helps find something similar by rummaging in a cupboard on the wall disguised as a mirror, she comes us with a similar style, but she does still feel it will be difficult to adjust the frame on his face with the lenses he needs. Cool. We have a helpful sales person. I silently thank my Guardian Angels.
The final point of sale, do you want buy one get one free? or 25% student discount off just one pair, and do you want two the same. It is this sort of decision making and messing about that deters my son from going shopping. My son at this point has two pairs sitting in front of him, one he has chosen, sort of black, very smart, good for interviews, and the one the sales lady found, which she doesn't feel is really the best shape.
My son opts for the smart one on the grounds it is simple and quick. I am nudged by spirit, I know there is something we are about to miss, but I don't know what it is. I butt in and ask for the price of one pair, with 25% off...£50 something, the price of buy one, get one free? £60 something. My son has his maths student lightbulb moment, oh, wait, what £10.00 for a whole spare pair of glasses? Oh, okay then, he will have two. Two the same? The saleswoman wants to know. My son agrees. This is what he does. It is the easiest option, going with the flow, getting out of the shop as soon as possible. I am nudged into interfering mode again.
'Sorry, what?' I say, offering my tuppence worth, 'why not have two different styles to choose from?'
After all, if the second pair are only a tenner, does it really matter if the lenses are not quite as easy to shape with his style of lenses? No, of course it doesn't. My son agrees, yes, have two different pairs. This of course makes a little more admin for the sales woman and we wait a few minutes more. While we are waiting, I just can't help myself and I hear myself asking
'What is the name of those frames?', you know, how all the glasses are given weird and wonderful names, like 'Osiris' and 'Pegasus'... well, this particular frame, chosen firstly by my son, unchosen by the sales woman and then re-chosen by me, is called Toby.
My son and I look at each other and even he smiles at the coincidence. Our mood is lightened again as we wait, more patiently, with a happy reminder of the funny story we had a laugh at earlier. My son is just happy to be reminded of the story. I am happy that he has been shown a coincidence, again, whether he gives it any meaning or not.
Lots of love, light and coincidences to everyone who needs it.

Thirty degree heat - yes, this will call for a brolly
Back in the volunteering sector. This time for The Samaritans. No, not in a counselling role, working in their retail shop in Westcliff.
Just on a Saturday and possibly some ad hoc hours during the week if they need someone at short notice. Working in a charity shop provides a wealth of material, the coincidences which occur are less astounding, because of course, when you are surrounded by book titles,bric-a-brac, all manner of items which ooze symbolism and meaning, there are bound to be coincidences, right?
Yes, of course. But, for me, lover of coincidence that I am, I take nothing for granted and value every coincidence no matter how out of place, or at the other end of the spectrum, how likely it was to occur anyway.
I turned up for my new volunteering role, unsure what to expect, but open-minded and willing to help in whatever way I know how. My first task was to fill the shoe rack up, quality check and price as many shoes as I could fit on the metal cage fixed to the wall. As I was sorting the shoes my attention fell upon a giant brolly. A huge black brolly. I asked the Manageress if we could put it out for sale, since clouds were gathering after the recent thirty degree heat. She said yes, but as she is superstitious, if I was going to try it, could I open it outside? Of course, not a problem. Off I went out onto the pavement, popped open the biggest brolly in the world only to notice it has a brand name written all over it. COWEN. I have a little smile of satisfaction as I am reminded of my son, C. Owen.
I enjoy these little coincidences. Of course, I was probably going to come across this brolly at some stage, but I wasn't meant to be hunting out brollies, it came across my path. Because, my friends, this is the Way. If you open your intuition, your inner feeling and have your mind free from worry, stress and angst, this is how Angels and the Universe bring us reminders that we are not alone, everything happens for a reason, and there is no such thing as coincidence.
Lots of love and light to everyone who needs it.

A message from my spirit guide and a free psychic drawing
Well, in my little private life I have overcome more obstacles this year. Mainly the obstacle of being unemployed. I have frightened myself nearly to death with new challenges and yet I have forced myself and I have managed. So far, so good.
I went along to a lovely Spiritualist Church to listen to the medium who also runs the psychic circle I am trying to join. I did get a short message, the medium deliberately didn't give me a full message because she knows I am due to join her circle. The message that came to me was
'You have a spirit guide. A very strong spirit guide'. The medium gave me a description. It is a description I have been given many times before and she also said...
'This may not be who your spirit guide actually is, sometimes they appear to us in forms that we can accept'.
This is very true. I have an image in my mind of my spirit guide and I do feel a very powerful energy around me. I have gone past the point in my life where I am prepared to take any flack from anyone, I just summon the energies of my spirit guide and ask for protection. It works for me. The message from my guide was also
'Don't give up, you are being pushed forward'.
This is always great advice, not to give up. I have no idea what it is I am not meant to be giving up. Giving up trying to be in a circle and do spiritual work? Giving up trying to have a well paid job? Giving up on the housing situation? There are many different spheres to my life where I could easily just give up. But no, I won't give anything up just yet then.
I arrived home to a message on facebook. I have been chosen as the lucky recipient of a free session with a psychic artist who is having an article written about him in Spirit & Destiny Magazine. Yes, the psychic artist put out a request on facebook for a person who is willing to sit for a psychic drawing and then to have the experience written about in the magazine. Naturally, he had a high response to his offer and out of all the people available to travel to London in the middle of June, he has narrowed it down to two people. I am one of them. He will do pictures for both and the magazine will decide which story makes it into the magazine. So, whether or not my story makes it into the Magazine, I will get a lovely picture of my spirit guide.
I am so excited about the experience ahead, I cannot wait.
Lots of love and light to everyone who needs it.

Have you got a light?
'Have you got a light?'
Simple enough request. A smoker, in need of a puff on a fag. I get it. Considering how much I love to re-interpret all the events that happen in my little life, I am surprised it has taken me so long to notice this little phrase.
Twice this week I have been asked for a light. Twice I have dismissed the request. 'No. I don't smoke. I used to smoke but I gave it up'. When people ask me for a light, I bore them with the story of how I gave up. Yes, this is how I see a request for a lighter. An opportunity to tell smokers that giving up is the way forward. I provide a role model for them. If I can do it, they can do it. Obviously I don't say this to anyone who needs a cigarette, I just share my personal experience with them.
But wait, also this month I have come across disposable lighters on my path, disposed off, discarded, dropped because they are no longer working.
'Have you got a light?' .....do you know what. I have got a light. It doesn't involve any flammable materials or burning tobacco. No, the light I have comes from within. Of course. A reminder to shine my own light, be the beacon of difference you want to be in the world.
Next time someone asks me if I have a light I am going to have to reply 'only from within'. It will be interesting to see what happens!
Lots of love and light to everyone who needs it.

Graduation...being in the right seat at the right time
Graduation Day with my teenager. No, not his Graduation, my Graduation. Bachelor of Science Open (Open)... An Open Degree with the Open University. A choice of subjects that I felt I could handle. Social Sciences (for two years); Creative Writing (because I couldn't face three years of Social Sciences); Psychology (because I had three years of Counselling background and a good grounding in psychological theories); followed by a final Level Three Course in Children's Literature (because...how hard could it be?)... Quite hard as it turns out. Still, I finished the course. I clung to the reins of a horse that had no idea where it was going. I jumped hurdles, swerved obstacles and completed the course. Overtaken by fellow horse riders on many occasion, until I saw the home straight. If I had known how hard this particular set of challenges were going to be, I probably wouldn't have taken it on. A perfect example of ignorance being blissful. Yes, the annual excitement of beginning a new course. The anticipation of enjoying a new learning experience. Tempered with the challenge of producing pieces of work every six weeks (roughly), of a standard high enough to be considered worthy of a good mark by the Open University tutors. Well, I did that. For five years. Whilst my teenager was gaining A*and A grades in his GCSEs, I was studying social science, when he began his AS levels I was messing about with Creative Writing, his A Level exam year saw me travel to London to sit an exam in Psychology. Seeing my teenager achieve his goal of getting to a University of his choice by attaining A* and A grades was one of the most satisfying years on this little educational journey. Seeing my son head off to Southampton to study Maths with Economics left me learning all about Children's Literature. A giant 'Charlie' shaped hole in my world was filled with an Open University degree course. The year came and went, Charlie passed his first year of Uni with flying colours and I received an invitation to my own Graduation. Off we went, my teenager and I to London, 2012, a good year for London, the Diamond Jubilee, the Olympics, the Para Olympics, my Graduation.....we arrived in good time, I registered my arrival, collected my Certificate and two tickets to the ceremony. One for moi, one for Charlie. Now, I have done my best to educate myself, I have. No-one could accuse me of trying to remain ignorant. But there are some things which are learnt through experience and breeding, you know, like opening doors for people or how to queue. Some things are 'picked up' along the way. Things like the difference between 'Circle' or 'Stalls'. Yes, you guessed it, I took the 'circle' ticket and gave Charlie the 'stalls' ticket. Charlie took my handbag for safekeeping and we both headed to our respective seats. Twenty minutes early. It was just me, sitting in the Gods in full gown regalia, until a few more people came in, none of whom were wearing Graduation Gowns. But, this is normal for the Open University, not everyone goes to the expense of hiring a gown. It wasn't until I started wondering about my route to the stage that it dawned on me. I was sitting in the wrong seat! I rushed out of the Auditorium like a cricket with a fly to catch...or whatever it is they eat...in time to get a text from Charlie ...'meet me outside...'...yes, he had sat with the Graduates, disguised by virtue of his youth and smart suit, not all the OU Graduates were wearing gowns! It was a true Del Boy moment, which I am pretty sure I enjoyed more than my teenager! When I finally found my seat I was happy to note that amongst a hundred graduates, seated according to subject and then Alphabetically, I found myself in seat M46. M for McGregor, my surname and 46 being the age I turned a couple of weeks ago.

A Government Work Programme and a New Pen
The job search continues. Over two hundred jobs applied for now. Two hundred and twenty to be precise. Alongside being a Self-Employed Sales Rep. (n an attempt to make myself more appealing to any would-be employer), I am still filling in application forms.
This week my out of work path has led me up different steps. Steps in the direction of a Government Work Programme. I had my first meeting with my new Adviser. So, now I will be keeping a record of all my job hunting on the piece of paper the job centre sign every two weeks and I will be filling the same information onto a separate form for the Ingeus team. This is not their fault, this is government bureaucracy. This is how it works. It is not enough for the Ingeus team to check you are looking for work, the job centre need to do that as well. Okay then.
So now I am trekking to the job centre every fortnight, and inbetween heading to the Government Work Programme on a weekly basis. Which is fine. You never know, they may have some secrets up their sleeve which will lead me to paid employment. You know, cash coming in. Money to pay the bills. Now that would be lovely.
My adviser is called Miss Crabb. She is born under the sign of Cancer. I like that. She doesn't. It is not a married name and it is not a name she would choose to be married to. So I guess if her Mr Right had been called Crabb she would have changed his name! Ha ha. I enjoyed the coincidence at least. I also admired her gel pen, which she let me have. There you go, have a pen, you can keep that. Lovely.
A trip to the Government Work Programme has bought me the joy of synchronicity and a lovely new pen. I will carry on filling in forms and know that one of these fine days a job will appear with my name written all over it.
Lots of love and light to everyone who needs it.

p.s Did I mention the hairdresser who turned down the offer to buy Avon's new Blackberry and Vanilla Bubble Bath? Walking home, carrying the bubble bath, I bumped into the postwoman who had no qualms whatsoever in snapping up a bargain. I handed over the bubble bath, she handed over the cash. Now that is what I call being in the right place at the right time.

The Golden Shepherd dog named Rosie
Life in Westcliff continues. I haven't been asked for directions for at least a week, but I have received three pens courtesy of Avon. As a Sales Rep consistently hitting my sales targets, I have been rewarded with promotional pens. Lovely. There is always room for another pen. A reminder to write. A note from spirit to remember why I am here.
Okay then. What else have a I managed to notice this week? Well, heading to a healing meeting, a little experience of crystal healing I bumped into a friend who is not just a qualified healer (you know, all the certificates and everything) but she is actually a healing presence. You know the sort of person, one who exudes peace, calm, serenity and who you just know has healing qualities. Unfortunately, she was busy and didn't have time to stop and join me for the crystal healing experience, but the opportunity was there for her, courtesy of bumping into me and being informed about the meeting. I did my bit. Maybe when the next one is on I will find out about it earlier and be able to let her know in advance.
This is me, doing my bit.
The Westcliff Spiritualist Church also had their Autumn Fayre. Despite it being the first week in September, temperatures are soaring, it was probably better, hotter, weather this week than during the week of the Summer Fayre. I went along to offer my services as an Angel Card Reader. I am happy to sit in Church helping to raise funds to help cover their overheads. But what's this? Wait. The SNU, the Spiritualists National Union, or something, do not allow Angel Card Readings. I am astounded, absolutely amazed that an organisation which finds it okay to communicate with the dead (or still living, really) doesn't accept Angel Cards.
I can tell you blogger, both my eyebrows shot up. What an eye opener. I love the Angel Cards, everyone I know enjoys the Angel Cards, they are a source of healing and comfort, a reminder that we are not alone, everyone has a Guardian Angel to call on in times of need. I am not really sure how an organisation can call themselves spiritual and yet reject an offer to help using Angel Cards. No. Not for me. I can't tell you how amazed I was at this revelation. Still, I blink my eyes a bit, get over the shock of that piece of news and make a mental note to find a church who enjoys Angel Cards as much as I do.
Walking back from being snubbed by the Church I bumped into a woman walking a young pup. Four months old she is, beautiful golden fur 'what sort of dog is she?' I ask, because that is what you do when you meet someone with a young dog. 'A Golden Shepherd'. Oh. Half Golden Retriever, half German Shepherd and her name is Rosie. Lovely. She was the 13th one of her litter. I exchange pleasantries, complimenting her lovely nature and as I walk home I am grateful for the interaction. Yes, the Golden Shepherd, I am reminded of the Shepherd who was shown an Angel. The name Rosie? yes, my Dad's sister was called Rose. 13th one? Yes, my Dad was also the 13th one.
The Spiritualist Church may not accept Angel Card readings, but yet another coincidental meeting reminds me that God works in mysterious ways and when one door closes somewhere a window opens.
Lots of love and light to everyone who needs it.

A street cat named Bob
My Mum still visits spiritualist churches and mediums, she lives in hope of getting a message from my brother in spirit, Robert. He doesn't come through very often, hardly ever in public gatherings, but every now and then, you know, every ten years or so, there will come a message with all the information that my Mum feels is definitely from him. The latest message (a couple of years ago) says he is happy in spirit and now goes by the name Bob. My Mum doesn't know whether to believe this or not, but name changing is something that she has always been good at, her name, our names, you know, see how it feels, try it out. Why not?
I began my day feeling slightly disheartened about the work I was about to do, walking to a dog groomers to collect an Avon order that should have been open yesterday and for some reason wasn't. I feel as if I have visited this dog parlour far too many times. I should have given up on it the first time it was shut. I visited, twice, left a 'I have visited card', visited again, the lady assured me she wanted Avon, 'call back Monday'. I called back and it was closed! It is feeling like a waste of my time. So, I am in no rush to get there at 9.30 on the dot, they are probably like all the other shops along the London Road, open when they feel like it around 10ish and close when they get fed up! Ha ha.
So, I have a little rummage in my paperwork, clearing out my A-Z of things I have saved with a vague idea I may possibly need them at some stage in the future. You know, like the guarantee for the fridge which expired three years ago. So, as I am ruthlessly rummaging, paring, binning, recycling with one eye on the clock, I come across a reading that my Mum had a couple of years ago. From Robert, the one where it says he is using the name Bobby (or Bob).
Absorbed in re-reading the message, the time flies and before I know it, it is time to head to the dog groomer. On the way, I post a letter back to my Mum with the reading in the envelope, to help remind her of Robert, she will enjoy that, having a reminder of her reading. As I walk past Tesco I notice a Green van parked up, someone I know, out of his area, he usually works in Westcliff. Someone called Bob. As I keep walking past shops, car sales showrooms an advert catches my eye. A window cleaning service has sprung up. 'Bob's Window Cleaners' (no, not the same Bob!). Oh. Two mentions of the name Bob.
Opening the door of the dog grooming shop I am met with the sight of the Avon book, waiting on the counter and a dog barking his head off
'sshhh Bobby, be quiet' the girl in the shop says.
I go about the Avon transaction, I explain to the dog that we need to have a conversation so he needs to be quiet. He shuts up.
Three Bob references within half an hour. Could this be a coincidental confirmation of the message I had read earlier in the day? I also like a bit of Twitter, a little random chat about everything and nothing. I have a little conversation with a woman who tells me she has ordered a new book from Amazon.
A street cat named Bob.
I have to laugh. Four Bob references in one day?
Yes, I will have to take that as communication from spirit.
Lots of love and light to everyone who needs it.

Being in the right place at the right time is becoming a habit
A fortuitious, synchronistic set of circumstances came together yesterday. I have another blog www.chirpychirpycheepcheep.blogspot.co.uk where I share the experiences I have on my Avon travels.
An Avon delivery, a friend who lives in Park Street and a muggy, slightly overcast, threatening rain from gathering clouds in Southend. Ignoring the likelihood of showers, looking on the bright side, better an hour sitting on a picnic blanket in a park where there could be a chance of a breeze rather than sitting indoors. A conversation ensues that revolves around the Avon brochures being delivered to Park Street, no, they haven't had a book for at least two campaigns. Hmm, this means, really, that Park Street isn't being covered by a Rep. As we sit chatting a woman passes through the park, she knows my friend, another little chat, she lives in Cambridge Road and she was stopped about a month ago to see if she wanted to be an Avon Rep. Hmm, so this is Park Street and Cambridge Road come to my attention. Okay then.
I head off to catch the last hour of an Olympic Avon event which has been held at the Energie Gym above the Post Office. Meeting up with my Area Sales Manager for the first time and explaining the problems I have had with the road I was given, my Sales Manager says she will look into it for me. As we are talking about the areas, a woman who just happens to be walking past reception says 'my daughter is going back to Uni soon, she has a round, but she never does it, she just sells to people she knows'
'really?' I enquire 'where is her round?'
'Park Street and Cambridge Road'.
'There you go' my Sales Manager says 'you can have those roads'.
I couldn't even share with them the fact that I have just been sitting in a park with a woman who lives in Park Street and having a chat with a woman who lives in Cambridge Road. I just gracefully accept my new territory and make a mental note that I don't need to knock at number 20, because that is the house where this helpful stranger lives.
Lots of love and light to everyone who needs it.

Do you know the way to...
Being asked for Directions always acts as a reminder to me to remember Spirit and the importance of spirituality whilst taking steps in the material world we are living in.
It also acts as a reminder to me that I am not on my own, Spirit is always there, guiding, protecting, offering nourishment for the soul during times of stress and on days which are particularly challenging.
My current work as a self-employed sales rep is taking me all over this little town, hunting out Avon customers, the work is a thankless task and on the whole, quite soul destroying. I carry on regardless. I don't know why I am supposed to be doing the Avon job, I just know I am meant to be doing it at the moment. I had just collected my brochure from the Cliffs Pavilion (you never know, the booking office is full of part-time women workers, one of them might want avon), but no, not this time. So I pack away my sales paraphernalia and I start the long walk home. I try not to think about the journey, I just take one road at a time.
As I head off along Station Road, a car has stopped in front of me, the lady driver is looking challenged herself, she winds her window down
'excuse me' she says
I smile at her, happy for her to be asking me for directions
'do you know the way to Park Street?'
I can't help but have a little chuckle to myself as I point her in the right direction. Yes, I know the way to Park Street, it is the road I had a little moral dilemma in last week (please see www.chirpychirpycheepcheep.blogspot.co.uk) as to whether I should help myself to abandoned Avon brochures that were clearly no longer needed. It is also the road where a good friend from school lives, our paths have crossed again after an absence of over twenty years!
I am reminded that I am Blessed.
Lots of love and light to everyone who needs it.

Chance meeting
I do love a bit of synchronicity. You know, the part of life where you find things in common with people, when it turns out you were born on the same day as a new work colleague or you went to the same school as your new neighbours.
Things that are likely to happen when you live in a small neighbourhood. Yes, these things make me happy, so I feel connected in the grand scheme of things. Part of a network, a reminder that none of us are separated, we are all connected.
Well, today, I bumped into no less than three people who are on my facebook, in a short space of time, it was lovely to see real people in real life and as the temperatures have dropped again, I was in no mood for loitering during my daily walk.
I did however strike up a conversation with a woman walking three little white dogs. Don't ask me why, I just commented on the lovely view over the seafront and how, although it is in the same place, the picture changes everyday. She agreed, and told me her daughter has moved away. She moved here from London, Walthamstow actually. I was born in Walthamstow. We laughed, how lovely, a coincidence! Yes, she used to own a sandwich shop in Covent Garden. Really? I used to work in the Strand and regularly shopped for sandwiches in Covent Garden. When was that? around 1989? yes, she was there until 2002. We are both surprised at this coincidence. Wow, Covent Garden, 1989, a blast from the past.
We decided we have enough in common to walk along together on our journey, so we both continue on our path as she explains that her Mum died, her Mum used to live in Ravens Court flats. I used to live in Ravens Court flats. She can hardly believe it. Are you working? she says, no, I explain, I used to work for Dedmans Estate Agent who went bust....she interrupts, Dedmans sold her mum's flat. Yes, I was working for Dedmans at the time. I explained I used to have a flat in Cambridge Road, number 43, guess where she lives? Cambridge Road, number 10. Her daughter, now fully grown and post grad, used to go to Barons Court Infant School, of course, my son went to the same school.
We are both cold and we have been standing still for far too long in these temperatures to be comfortable as we uncover similarity after similarity. Of course, conversation turns to poor choice of men and the fall out from that. We share our disappointments and regrets and we take our leave of each other. Two women on very different and yet, fairly similar paths. Living in the same town for more than thirty years and our paths have never crossed.
I am reminded that none of us are treading water alone, there are plenty of goldfish all swimming around each other with their paths never crossing. The magic and majesty of life surprises me again.
Lots of love and light to everyone who needs it.

Three job leads. Will any of them lead anywhere.
The Challenge of a Daily Blog continues....
Coincidence of my week, I sent a copy of 'Chat, It's Fate' 2012 Annual to my Mum, in Devon. What did she send me? The 'Chat, It's Fate' Christmas edition! Our guides having a little joke.
As I am currently looking for a job, I leave no stone unturned in my search. I phoned an Estate Agent in Basildon to view a property in Westcliff, unfortunately they didn't have anyone available to show me round until next week. I offered my services as a Freelance viewing person. The agent asked me to send my c.v.
A couple of days later I am strolling down my road, only to spot my old Estate Agent boss who I used to work for in 2003. I explained that I am unemployed and looking for a job and I gave him my number. You never know, stranger things have happened.
Oh yes, the job centre pointed me in the direction of the 'Mind' office who are looking for an office manager. I went and collected an application form, it turns out, it is in the very same building where I worked on leaving school, thirty years ago! If that job is my new post, I really will have come full circle.
Lots of love and light to everyone who needs it.

A Daily Blog for November (it's a National Challenge). Being asked for Directions.
I have taken up the challenge of blogging every day in November.
So, apologies to anyone who will get easily bored by my 'spamming' their timelines on facebook or twitter, but I feel I should join in with the National insanity that has descended. A challenge is set every November, apparently, where budding writers try and produce a whole book. A novel. A novella. Something with 50,000 words. In a month! I would say this is a virtual impossibility, but every year, books are published after this mammoth effort from all the writers in the nation. A lot of people know they can't do 50,000 words. What they can do though, is get in to the habit of writing. By writing every day it creates a sense of expectation, new ideas spring up whilst you are doing other things and when you sit to write, they all come pouring back. Ha ha! Sounds like a reasonable theory.
So, I will give it a go. I will force myself to find something to write about every day for a month.
Firstly, let me say that my son who is at University can provide me with so much material, I could easily write 50,000 words, on him alone. Unfortunately, I am banned from writing about him. There will be no blogging about my son. I have been told. So I have to try and keep that down, unless it affects me personally. So, I guess his accommodation stories, his room mate, his neighbours, none of that includes me.
I hope that my son is getting on okay, I get to hear occasionally that things are going well, or not so well, and I still continue to pay attention to the signs I notice as I go about my daily life. When I see a squirrel on my path, I think of my son, and I am reminded that he is not on his own and he is quite capable. Whenever I see a squirrel, I take a picture, just because it is such a lovely break from routine, and a reminder that he is industrious, hard working and always busy. He will be fine.
Anyway, strolling along, mainly minding my own business, I notice three magpies fly over my head. Three? Hmm, I wonder. Is it possible that my son will be moved into his own room soon and it will have the number 3 on the door? 1.11.11 my son was in Room 111, which adds up to three. A little further along I see a crow. It is distinctly posing, like a statue, I cannot fail to notice it, and take a picture. Hmm. Will I have something to crow about that has something to do with the number three? Possibly. As I am walking along having a little ponder as to what is about to happen, an old lady stops me.
I say she stops me, she gestures for me to take my headphones out with her gloved hand. I notice her freckles and guess she must have spent quite a lot of time in the sun. Her designer shades have probably seen a few foreign beaches and she says
'can you tell me the way to Chalkwell Park, so I can get to the seafront?'
I explain that she needs to go round the corner and the Park is diagonally opposite to where she will be standing.
She is relieved, as if she thought she could be a million miles away from where she wants to be.
I am reminded that although I may be redundant in my son's life and that he doesn't need me at the moment. I am still the person who looks like she knows the way.
Lots of love and light to everyone who needs it.

So, apologies to anyone who will get easily bored by my 'spamming' their timelines on facebook or twitter, but I feel I should join in with the National insanity that has descended. Has Katie Price found 'the one'. Sally Morgan thinks so.
Sally Morgan the famous t.v. psychic. The lady who stands on stage and gives stunning messages to people from their loved ones. I admire the work that I have seen Sally do. She gives a complete performance. Sally identifies people in spirit from a photo that the audience provide and she gives their name and the audience member cries into a microphone, it is all very emotional, and wonderful that Sally is able to communicate with spirit to bring people confirmation that their loved one is in fact on the other side. I love this, the work is so important as a way of helping to show people there is more to life than what we can see in front of us.
I guess with fame there must come a level of people writing about a person, never having met them, as I am doing now, and a certain amount of judging goes on. I cannot help but judge though, when I read a report that Sally Morgan has told Katie Price that she has met 'the one'. I hope this is something that has been written about Sally Morgan and it isn't actually what she said, and she has been misquoted. I hope so.
I hope that Sally Morgan, with her talent of being able to communicate with the dead hasn't been swayed onto the path of prediction for a celebrity because of the level of fame, attention and money that brings. Prediction is a temptation, a risk, a gamble. Predicting the future for someone else, or being able to 'see' a possible future for them. Is it just picking up what they are hoping for themselves? Is this why most tarot readings end with a happy ending, because who would want to give the news that this relationship has got disaster written all over it?
So, from Sally Morgan's point of view, Katie Price has met the love of her life. He doesn't speak English. He is younger than her. He is not famous, but he would like to be. Could Sally Morgan be right? Is it possible that there is no common sense factors that make up a successful relationship and love strikes in the strangest of places? She could be. Or, she could be reading what Katie wants. Not intentionally, it is just the most likely outcome that Katie can imagine for herself.
The business of mediumship. Personally, I cannot see how Katie Price can possibly make a relationship work with a young guy who doesn't speak English, whilst she has three children to parent. I guess she is not with Leo for his parenting skills. It is common sense to me that Katie Price is living some sort of dual role, not just with her glamour girl/wife roles but also her successful businesswoman/mother roles. have I counted four roles just off the top of my head? I think I have.
I hope Katie Price has found the love of her life. If that is what she has been looking for. I also hope Sally Morgan is right.
Good luck to Katie and Leo. Personally, I think it will be all over by Christmas. The temptation of prediction got to me!

The Final Day of Sixth Form
Here it is. The day has arrived. The Final day of Sixth Form College. I was due a lie-in. My son didn't have to get to school until 10.30am. He had his day mapped out, school by 10.30, bbq on the field, no lessons, up the pub with teachers later, after collecting his Year Book, out for hours with his friends followed by a Disco.
This is the plan. They have also agreed to wearing shorts. Last of day of school, no school uniform, denim cut downs will be the order of the day.
The weather is overcast, windy and threatening to rain. Does it change anything? No. My son has headed off to school with his goose-pimply legs half-covered in denim shorts.
I say nothing. Is there any point? They have decided to wear shorts. Apparently, these teenage-made decisions are not weather dependant and although words like 'catch your death' and 'do you know how cold it is out there' will fall on deaf ears, I struggle not to say them. So I have learnt something in 18 years of child rearing. I have learnt that my son responds better to the experience and seeing proof before his eyes, than relying on anything he hears. So I lead him to the front door (whilst he is dressed in his over the knee shorts) and I lead him to the step outside the door. I can see him shivering. He shrugs "it's not that bad". I point to the sky. It is almost black. "oh well" he says. I give up.
I shall let him get on with it, having woken up at 6am as if it is a normal day I am irritated that I didn't manage to sleep for a little longer than usual. Never mind. My son had a disastrous exam yesterday, one which he needs to get an A star , he thinks he will be lucky if he scrapes a B. The other students found it straightforward and easy. This means that the next exams my son will have to get over 90% to bring his average grades up. Under pressure. We did both have a little giggle though when the Deputy Headmaster asked Charlie why he wasn't in his lesson yesterday? In a demanding tone, to suggest that Charlie has been doing something he shouldn't. "I was in an exam Sir". take that.
Love and light to everyone who needs it.

Signs and symbolism from nature. Playing the Game.
I go about my daily business on the Dark of the Moon with an awareness that by focusing on nature's messengers (in my case these range from anything furry with four legs to petals forming shapes on my path) I will be drawing my attention to things that are already there.
This is not the game. The game is to communicate with the universe by just being aware of what is going on around you on a daily basis and to try and identify the hidden meaning or warning of some event whether joyful or sad or exciting or unexpected by reading the symbolism of your life.
You know the game, you do it every day. The car starts first time, yay! how wonderful, you head off on your journey without giving it a second thought. A day comes when the car doesn't start, and you have a flat battery. Time to re-charge your own batteries? This is the game. Interpreting life events as a reflection of what is going on for you personally, either physically, mentally, emotionally or spiritually.
Generally I think that electrical dysfunctions are usually problems that our minds are working on, usually needlessly, but all mind-related. Unless it is the washing machine and there is water involved and then I take it as an emotional issue that needs looking at.
Everytime a lightbulb pops I cannot help but just think there is a little light gone out in someone's world, somewhere. Usually it is someone I know and I do get to hear about it.
My journey today brought me a little trip to the Civic Centre to buy some garden waste bags. As I walked up to the Civic, two crows landed in my path. As I was taking their picture a young couple happened to walk up behind me pushing a buggy. I had a little chat with them, explaining it is really hard to get close to crows because they always fly away. Click. picture capture. fly away crows. The young couple actually didn't look at me as if I am crazy, taking random pictures of wildlife on a busy main road. I explained that seeing crows is news that I will have something to crow about. Something to crow about. They both laugh and the young lady explains that she has crows in her back garden all the time. I say they must be very fortunate! They both laugh, no, this is not the case. Okay then. I suggest it could be time for them to do the lotto. Then I have an inkling that this is not for them and I am seeing the image of a horse. 'Or time to bet on the horses?' they exchanged a look as if I must have been ear-wigging. The young man explained they had literally just been having the conversation about how the thought had crossed his mind to go into a betting shop and put some money on a horse, and he hasn't done that for months. We all laugh and I carry on my journey. My journey takes me to the Civic. No, no garden bags for £3.00. Not anymore. Go to the library.
Of course, the Library. Why didn't I think of that? the obvious place to purchase garden waste bags. After the queue at the civic I go to the library and start queuing again. Who is in front of me? yes, the young couple. Fortunately, we all have a little chuckle because our paths have crossed again, although I am starting to feel like a stalker. £5.50 for garden bags from the library. The grass had better slow down.
A trip to the shops, all the little things I need to make my life work, toothpaste, loo-roll, tin-foil. An item I couldn't find, a curtain pole which won't be in until after Saturday. Okay then, I guess the timing of that little journey will lead me to bumping into someone else to share some information.
On the way home I take a diversion, I decide that I haven't played the Universe game today and I will take a walk through the park to help the spirit game along, by visiting a place where there are birds, squirrels, dogs, robins, butterflies and all the things that I like to see.
Things that I expect to see in the park. I expect to see at least one magpie, probably a crow, a squirrel, hopefully a robin and anything else nature intends for me to appreciate. I walk through the park. Nothing. Not one little iota, apart from a pigeon. So, I have a little mug of tea in the cafe and do some people watching. Maybe the universe wants me to notice something different. I am torn between paying attention and focusing on things I do want to see, and being open to experiencing new things. So, after my tea and yes I admit it, a plate of chips (thinly disguised with a tomato and some watercress, clearly to give the appearance of healthy eating), I decide to take a little stroll past the old monastery.
I sit at my favourite bench by a little circular pond and I decide that I will sit for 5 minutes. I have given up waiting to see any of my usual messengers from nature and then I see movement in the pond. There is a brown duck. One singular duck. I have never seen a duck in this circular pond before. It is news to me that the water is clean enough for a duck. The water and brown stuff floating on the top is a very similar colour to the brown duck. I take some pictures and wonder at this new sight. Another thing I do is to use animals that I see to represent people who I know in real life. So if I see a squirrel, I think of my son, if I see a tabby cat I think of me and everyone I know has an animal attributed to them. So I wonder who this duck is. The duck cleans itself and shows off some purple and green feathers, in fact it virtually bends over backwards to clean under some hard to get places. Hm. Do I know someone who has to bend over backwards to get my attention? Don't know. This could be symbolic of a new person.
So, I leave the duck to enjoy the sunshine and I vaguely notice the pair of butterflies, a symbol of spiritual growth and happiness. I step out from this chamber of flowers and peace into a wide open green expanse of grass. Where there is a crow sitting in the middle of the green. I take a pic. Five seagulls are watching from the safety of the monastery roof. This is a regular spot for them, even though they are nowhere near the sea. I take another pic. I walk down some steps and a small bird flies right across my eye line and perches on a branch, on my path. It is a robin. I literally have to take a step back away from it to take a pic. Now it seems, everywhere I step there is a creature from nature rushing out to greet me. Another corner, another bird literally on my path. First a blackbird, then a magpie and then a man with his two dogs disturbs the magpie and so I head off in a direction away from the dog, in time to see a squirrel run out, spot me, and run up a tree.
I have a little laugh to myself. I have walked through that park, looking for these things. They weren't there. They did not show themselves to me. Not until it was time for me to go. At the last possible minute, I see one thing after another. Perfect.
I walk home feeling lighter, in spite of the chips.
Just playing the game.
Love and light to everyone who needs it.

Easter Sunday
It is a family holiday. I don't know why that is, people tend to get together with their families at Easter, in a different sort of way from Christmas. At Christmas people have to get together, there is stress and angst and people force themselves to buy presents for people they don't speak to all year. Easter is a different kettle of fish, and loaves, or hot cross buns and chocolate eggs. People getting together to exchange the stories of their lives.
Telling a story is a really good way of getting any message across. If you have a difficult conversation that needs to be held, start off with a good story. A story of how x,y or z did a,b or c and relating the matter back to what you are currently facing, is such a good way of discussing any issue. Issue with a capital I of course, not your issues that don't matter. Not your issues about how many tea bags are being used or if someone is stealing the washing. No, Issues, like, how you feel about the way things are going, or not going, the way forward is not always linear, and at the moment a lot of people are treading water or going round in circles.
I, for one, am very fortunate, I have a linear steps to take this year. My son is leaving for University! Yay! I am going to be so happy that we have got to the point of third tier education. I will have got him there, I have done my best and no-one can ask for more than that. I am hoping that he will get there, he is the one who has to do the work, get the exams done, spend time revising instead of playing with his friends, it is a tough choice for him every day when he has friends who haven't carried on their education, people who are not so bothered about making it to a good university who want him to go out all night and sleep all day.
Discipline is something we can only do ourselves. No-one can do it for us. To this end, I am making the commitment, with the help of Saturn in Libra to lose some weight. Not a big goal, I admit, but time to shrink the fat cells. I will keep my readers posted of my progress. Reading my blog you are being my 'listener', thank you for listening people. Have a lovely Easter Weekend, however you are spending it xx
