Some people are meant to cross our paths.

Over the years I have often thought about joining a Circle. You know, a psychic development circle.  There have been various reasons why I have never actually got as far as joining one. The timing has often been the main reason. I was offered the opportunity of joining a circle a week before I was due to move house. That didn't suit.  I was offered a circle opening on the night that I was attending evening classes. That didn't suit.  It has always been there at the back of my mind. When my son was small I was offered an opening in a Circle and it didn't suit because I didn't have any childcare. One church wouldn't accept me into their Circle because they didn't know me.  So, over the years I would say there have been numerous Circles that have 'nearly been'.  I didn't actually make it into any of them.

This year, I have finished my degree with the Open University (another huge commitment that has taken up years of my life) and I have been elbowing my way back into the world of work. I am on my third part-time job in a row and I know that once I get the hang of my weekly routine, I will have more time on my hands than I haven't had for many years. So, now would be a good time to find a Circle.

A week before getting my latest job I was walking home after a Wednesday visit to see a particular Medium, the Irish lady called Rita who is taken along to the church by one of her four sons. Strolling along, I got chatting with Iris, a lady who also goes to the Church. I mentioned that I keep being told from the Pulpit, the Rostrum, up on the Stage, whatever you want to call it, that I am going to be sitting in a Circle. I always reply to the medium

'No, not that I know of'.

Iris told me that Rita's son, Peter, is looking for people to join his Circle on a Thursday, he goes to a Church in Southend.  So, off I trotted, the Sunday before starting work to the Southend Church.  I was given the telephone number of Sandy Walford, not Peter.  I just had a feeling that I should be asking to join the Circle on the Monday and not the Thursday.

I waited to call Sandy, I thought I will wait until after the Bank Holiday Monday, because no-one likes being disturbed at home on a Bank Holiday do they?  No, I will wait until the calls are cheaper on the Saturday and ring her then. If I remember.  Anyway, the days came and went, Wednesday was spent travelling to Birmingham for an overnight stay in a hotel ready for an early morning start at a Training Academy on Thursday and Friday. I started my new job on the Saturday morning, I met my new work colleagues, a lady who hadn't been present during my interview was there.  She is my new Assistant Manager, we got chatting and at the end of my first day she asked me if I am religious.

'Are you religious?' she said.

I told her that 'no, I wouldn't say I was religious, but I am spiritual and I do go to church'.

It turns out that my new Assistant Manager has recently given up her place in a psychic circle and she has stopped going because she hasn't got time.

'oh' I said. 'That's funny, because I have just found a space in a circle'.

We looked at each other.

'Sandy Walford from the church in Southend?' I said

'Are you sure?' she said

'Yes, I am absolutely positive'. Yes, of course, it was the same circle.  Not only that, but Lisa is due to become the daughter-in-law of Rita, by marrying her eldest son. So, I find myself replacing a person I have never met, only to meet them in a different setting.

It truly is a small world.

Lots of love and light to everyone who needs it.

Graduation...being in the right seat at the right time

Graduation Day with my teenager.  No, not his Graduation, my Graduation. Bachelor of Science Open (Open)... An Open Degree with the Open University. A choice of subjects that I felt I could handle. Social Sciences (for two years); Creative Writing (because I couldn't face three years of Social Sciences); Psychology (because I had three years of Counselling background and a good grounding in psychological theories); followed by a final Level Three Course in Children's Literature (because...how hard could it be?)... Quite hard as it turns out.  Still, I finished the course. I clung to the reins of a horse that had no idea where it was going. I jumped hurdles, swerved obstacles and completed the course. Overtaken by fellow horse riders on many occasion, until I saw the home straight. If I had known how hard this particular set of challenges were going to be, I probably wouldn't have taken it on. A perfect example of ignorance being blissful. Yes, the annual excitement of beginning a new course. The anticipation of enjoying a new learning experience. Tempered with the challenge of producing pieces of work every six weeks (roughly), of a standard high enough to be considered worthy of a good mark by the Open University tutors.  Well, I did that. For five years. Whilst my teenager was gaining A*and A grades in his GCSEs, I was studying social science, when he began his AS levels I was messing about with Creative Writing, his A Level exam year saw me travel to London to sit an exam in Psychology.  Seeing my teenager achieve his goal of getting to a University of his choice by attaining A* and A grades was one of the most satisfying years on this little educational journey. Seeing my son head off to Southampton to study Maths with Economics left me learning all about Children's Literature. A giant 'Charlie' shaped hole in my world was filled with an Open University degree course.  The year came and went, Charlie passed his first year of Uni with flying colours and I received an invitation to my own Graduation. Off we went, my teenager and I to London, 2012, a good year for London, the Diamond Jubilee, the Olympics, the Para Olympics, my Graduation.....we arrived in good time, I registered my arrival, collected my Certificate and two tickets to the ceremony. One for moi, one for Charlie.  Now, I have done my best to educate myself, I have. No-one could accuse me of trying to remain ignorant. But there are some things which are learnt through experience and breeding, you know, like opening doors for people or how to queue. Some things are 'picked up' along the way. Things like the difference between 'Circle' or 'Stalls'.  Yes, you guessed it, I took the 'circle' ticket and gave Charlie the 'stalls' ticket.  Charlie took my handbag for safekeeping and we both headed to our respective seats. Twenty minutes early. It was just me, sitting in the Gods in full gown regalia, until a few more people came in, none of whom were wearing  Graduation Gowns. But, this is normal for the Open University, not everyone goes to the expense of hiring a gown. It wasn't until I started wondering about my route to the stage that it dawned on me. I was sitting in the wrong seat!  I rushed out of the Auditorium like a cricket with a fly to catch...or whatever it is they eat...in time to get a text from Charlie ...'meet me outside...'...yes, he had sat with the Graduates, disguised by virtue of his youth and smart suit, not all the OU Graduates were wearing gowns!   It was a true Del Boy moment, which I am pretty sure I enjoyed more than my teenager! When I finally found my seat I was happy to note that amongst a hundred graduates, seated according to subject and then Alphabetically, I found myself in seat M46.  M for McGregor, my surname and 46 being the age I turned a couple of weeks ago.

Lots of love and light to everyone who needs it.

The Golden Shepherd dog named Rosie

Life in Westcliff continues.  I haven't been asked for directions for at least a week, but I have received three pens courtesy of Avon. As a Sales Rep consistently hitting my sales targets, I have been rewarded with promotional pens. Lovely.  There is always room for another pen. A reminder to write. A note from spirit to remember why I am here.

Okay then.  What else have a I managed to notice this week?  Well, heading to a healing meeting, a little experience of crystal healing I bumped into a friend who is not just a qualified healer (you know, all the certificates and everything) but she is actually a healing presence. You know the sort of person, one who exudes peace, calm, serenity and who you just know has healing qualities.  Unfortunately, she was busy and didn't have time to stop and join me for the crystal healing experience, but the opportunity was there for her, courtesy of bumping into me and being informed about the meeting. I did my bit.  Maybe when the next one is on I will find out about it earlier and be able to let her know in advance.

This is me, doing my bit.

The Westcliff Spiritualist Church also had their Autumn Fayre. Despite it being the first week in September, temperatures are soaring, it was probably better, hotter, weather this week than during the week of the Summer Fayre.  I went along to offer my services as an Angel Card Reader.  I am happy to sit in Church helping to raise funds to help cover their overheads. But what's this? Wait.  The SNU, the Spiritualists National Union, or something, do not allow Angel Card Readings.  I am astounded, absolutely amazed that an organisation which finds it okay to communicate with the dead (or still living, really) doesn't accept Angel Cards.

I can tell you blogger, both my eyebrows shot up.  What an eye opener.  I love the Angel Cards, everyone I know enjoys the Angel Cards, they are a source of healing and comfort, a reminder that we are not alone, everyone has a Guardian Angel to call on in times of need.  I am not really sure how an organisation can call themselves spiritual and yet reject an offer to help using Angel Cards.  No. Not for me. I can't tell you how amazed I was at this revelation. Still, I blink my eyes a bit, get over the shock of that piece of news and make a mental note to find a church who enjoys Angel Cards as much as I do.

Walking back from being snubbed by the Church I bumped into a woman walking a young pup.  Four months old she is, beautiful golden fur 'what sort of dog is she?' I ask, because that is what you do when you meet someone with a young dog.  'A Golden Shepherd'.  Oh. Half Golden Retriever, half German Shepherd and her name is Rosie. Lovely.  She was the 13th one of her litter.  I exchange pleasantries, complimenting her lovely nature and as I walk home I am grateful for the interaction.  Yes, the Golden Shepherd, I am reminded of the Shepherd who was shown an Angel.  The name Rosie?  yes, my Dad's sister was called Rose.  13th one? Yes, my Dad was also the 13th one.

The Spiritualist Church may not accept Angel Card readings, but yet another coincidental meeting reminds me that God works in mysterious ways and when one door closes somewhere a window opens.

Lots of love and light to everyone who needs it.

More in common with an acquaintance than even I could have imagined

You know how some people are just 'there'. In the background. Popping up at regular intervals in your life and you don't delve any further into what or who you have in common?

Well, you know how some people you meet you feel as if you have something in common and it feels important to get to know every detail, so you can compare stories, find out what you have done the same, where you have been different.  Then there are the opposite people. The ones you just know not to bother 'getting into it' with?

Category One, people you know you have something in common with, Category Two, people you know you have nothing in common with and then there are Category Three people...people you don't yet know you have something in common with.  So, they are neither here nor there. Not a friend. Not an acquaintance, just a fleeting relationship. You have had something to do with them, you know their name, perhaps a few minor, inconsequential details,  but nothing worth writing home about.  So, you don't bother delving into your shared history, you think they are Category Two peeps.  That is, until they keep showing up.  Over and over your paths cross until you uncover the connection.

I have had a Category Two person turn into a Category One.  There is this man, called Matthew. I first met him in 2003-4 somewhere around there.  I was on a counselling course, learning to listen, he was also in the room as a helper, helping to take notes for someone in the class. So, although he was in the class, he wasn't involved in the same way as the other people.  Human being who was 'there' but not really 'there', he was involved as a participant and so I didn't get to know him. We had a laugh nevertheless and kept our conversation purely non-counselling. I respected his boundaries, he wasn't in the class to be counselled or to join in with our navel gazing exercises, he was there to take notes.  The class was fun and there were some great people with whom I enjoyed the learning experience.

A couple of years pass by, I can't remember how many and I am sitting outside a pub having a lemonade and spending time with a friend who has is suffering from a bereavement. Her son's Granddad has died.  Matthew comes and joins us for a lemonade and we spend a lovely couple of hours having a chat, sitting in the sun, we all got sunburnt down one side and my friend and I will remember the afternoon as the marking of her ex-father-in-law's passing.  With Matthew.

A few more years pass, our paths cross, as I am walking between jobs, he is cycling between jobs, I tell him my son has gone to University and he listens to all the details (which must surely bore him, but he is polite enough to listen).  I am not sure that we really have anything to say to each other. Except that we keep meeting. I mean not 'keep' as in, every day or week, month or even year, but we keep showing up in each other's lives.

So, it is no surprise to me that as I walk past the church where I recently attended a funeral, who should be coming the opposite way?  Matthew. Being the polite individuals that we are, both of us stop, purely out of politeness.  I am somehow aware that I have seen Matthew speaking to some gas engineers in Ditton Court Road (I vaguely caught him out of the corner of my eye as I was on my Avon travels).  I happen to mention that I saw him in Ditton Court Road.

'I live there' he says
'I used to live there' I say as well, he probably thinks I am repeating him  'I used to live at number 8'
'next door to me?' he says, 'no wait, I live at 8a'
'oh!' you live downstairs?
'no, I live upstairs at 8a' he explains
'I lived upstairs at number 8, maybe it was called 8a' it was so long ago, I cannot really remember if it was number 8 or 8a, but it was upstairs at the building number 8.

From the age of 18 - 20 ish I lived in the flat where Matthew has been living all this time.  How bizarre.

When I first said I lived at number 8 and Matthew said 'next door to me?' it was because the information I gave him was too much of a coincidence for his mind to be able to compute what I was saying to him!  He thought I must at least have been just one of his neighbours. Not the actual same flat where he lives.  Yes, the actual same flat where he lives.

Living for coincidence.

Lots of love and light to everyone who needs it.

White Feathers and shiny pennies

The little coincidences that I enjoy noticing. The real things that happen everyday that remind me that I am in the right place at the right time.

My son is settling in to his University Room 111, strolling along, having a little walk to the local park, I see a car parked on the pavement.  Number plate 111.  Superb.  Bearing in mind this is Year 2011 and there are millions of cars with 11 in their plate, I am guessing this is something that I am going to be seeing a lot!

In the park a little squirrel just sat, peacefully on a branch.  I don't know where the squirrels have been this summer, there has been a distinct lack of squirrels this year.  But the day before yesterday a squirrel just appeared to me, long enough for me to take a photo.

Yesterday, I went on a little car journey, out with a friend and as we were driving along, talking about my son, we overtook a car with 111 on the numberplate.  Lovely.  All I have to be concerned about in my little world is how my son is managing, taking his first steps into the adult world.   Driving along, a cat stepped out in front of us, half white, half tabby and so my friend and I agreed that would be 'her sign'. Whenever I see a similar looking cat, I will let her know.  This is how my world works.  All my friends have symbols assigned to them, one Wolf, one Butterfly, one Squirrel, one White Cat, one Black Cat, the Falcon, the Brown Bear....all my friends relate, whenever I see one, I am reminded about that particular friend.  Usually, I then hear from that person.  Or sometimes I am prompted to contact them.

It keeps me amused in my everyday world. I like to think it is my guardian angels or spirit guide who is bringing the information to me an drawing my attention in that direction. If you were an Angel with a 'charge' how would you get messages to them?  White feathers and shiny pennies are a good as method as any.

Lots of love and light to everyone who needs it.

A trip to University, a pair of Magpies and Room Number 111

The Big Day of our year came.  Time for my son to travel to University, spread his wings and learn to fly solo.  This was it.

Charlie, his Dad and I managed to get to Uni.  No hiccups, find the place, park, drop Charlie and his stuff off and get home again without a cross word, no drama and it all went well.

Sitting in the back of the car, focusing on being pleasant and making the day go as smoothly as possible, I took some time to notice the coincidences and synchronicity that appeared on our journey.

So much organising went into this little journey, it is a miracle that we managed to get into the car, all in one piece, on time.  The three loads of washing that appeared the day before, the four pairs of jeans that needed sewing, not to mention the ironing. The e-tickets that needed printing, from Nans, because she is the only person who has ink available, a cycle ride away, literally, the last job that gets done before leaving for University.

A debate between Charlie and his Dad about a Sat Nav or a Google Maps.  Rick wanted the Sat Nav, Charlie wanted to follow the Map.  The Map won, but the Sat Nav was referred to on occasion, just to check.   A little power struggle in the car, or was that my imagination?  I didn't imagine the Radio D.J. talking about Fruit Pastilles, just as we overtook a lorry advertising Fruit Pastilles.  A coincidence.  Lovely.  Perfect timing. I was certain we were in the right place at the right time.

A few cars on the motorway, filled with Students and their parents, packing them off to a new life. One guy waved and we waved and smiled back.   A stop off at a service station for a quick refresher and we bumped into the friend from Charlie's school, also going to Southampton.  We all sat and ate our food, enjoying a little chat about the new journey ahead and some reminiscing about the Food Tech. disasters that Charlie's friend brought home.

Another reminder that we were in the right place at the right time.    I spotted a pair of Magpies.  Lovely. Joy.  There will be plenty of Joy and happiness over the next three years, yes, we are on the right path.  Songs on the radio bring upliftment into the car, a little side step to find an air pressure guage that works (one of the back tyres is looking decidedly sorry for itself).  A traffic jam free journey, more or less, brought us into Southampton in time to find the road easily, without fuss, a parking space at the Uni, and a queue to collect a key.

I stray off to use the toilet and when I come back to the queue, Charlie is happily chatting with another student, someone else that he knows from his School who has made it to Southampton!  My presence is no longer needed.  We have made it.

Armed with his newly issued key, my son leads us to his new life.  A little block.  Block H. Like Prisoner Cell Block H.  Room Number 111.  I smile to myself and am perfectly satisfied that he will be fine in this new room.

I love the synchronicity of significant numbers and Number 111, for me, represents the New Beginnings that come from venturing away from home.  Number 1 is the number that is always chosen by my son, in any situation.  'give me a number' Charlie, I say, he always says '1'. Give me a real number, I say, he says '1' again. No matter how many times I ask him for a number, he will always say '1'. Not to mention that Aries always love to be first at everything.  It suits him, the Room Number.

The journey home brought songs on the radio to pay attention to, 'you know you will miss me, you changed the way you kissed me'...so many lyrics that I sat and enjoyed during the journey.

The New Beginnings, we are off!  A little text from my son, his flatmate is alright and he was already organising a night out with the other people in his block.  Good times ahead.

Lots of love and light to everyone who needs it.

Chance encounter, coincidental information.

It is not until you really think about the chance encounters, the synchronicity of events that you realise how amazing life can be.

My son is now finding himself in the right place at the right time to have the right conversations that lead him to be able to help other people.

For instance, he was about to go into a really demanding, complicated A2 Level Further Mathematics exam yesterday.  Just before they were due to go in, he has a little conversation with a fellow student who just happens to say to my son ' we don't need to know....x,y,z, just a,b,c'. My son not only knows this is not the case, but he also knows how to do x,y and z.  So, a hurried explanation to his friend about that particular subject and said friend goes into the exam with one last piece of information added to his repertoire of mathematical knowledge.  The first question on the exam paper?  how to do x,y and z.

This is the sort of coincidence that reminds me that we are all prompted by the unseen to use our voices, speak to each other, pay attention as much as possible to the words being used and what is being asked of us by the person in front of us.

Love and light to everyone who needs it.

The Sevens have it

I have tweeted 7,777 times.  Yes, that many times.  I love twitter, people talk back.  I also downloaded a new album and a single from itunes at a cost of £7.77.  So, on the day I make this four seven tweeting, I also receive an email from itunes reminding me of my purchase.

I just love it when the numbers line up like this.  Does it MEAN anything? No, I wouldn't have thought so, when I see three sevens I am usually reminded of one of my old friends. So, it will interesting to see if I hear from her over the weekend now I have been reminded again.

Happy Easter Holidays people x

An ex-Estate Agent, a Management Accountant, six sets of keys and two lock-outs.

Just to share my strange Sunday.  After doing nothing but complain about my idiot neighbours I have been reminded that I can heal their situation and the only way peace will come to my world is via ME.  Just a little tale of my life experience yesterday, Sunday 10th April 2011.

I used to be an Estate Agent.  Keys were my thing, yes, I could wax lyrical about keys to houses for at least 500 words.  I resist the urge.  Having purged my soul of vitriol about my downstairs noise makers I went on twitter for more of the same and I noticed my Follower number was on 777.  I thought about my friend who lives 6 roads away.  Her mobile phone number has 777 in it. Well, it used to. Until she lost it at a Christmas Party and the party host found it and put it in a safe place only for it to disappear into the post-Christmas ether. Vanished. So, my friend, who is a Management Accountant improvised and bought a new number, which had 111 in it. We all move on.

My friend's son, Ashley, who is also a friend of my son, Charlie, often locks himself out and is on our doorstep waiting for his mum to rescue him.  It has happened a few times, and every time it happens we say 'must sort a spare key out'.   Anyway, yesterday morning, having been prompted by the 777 on Twitter, I text my friend on her 111 number. No reply.  Odd.  I shuffle round to visit her, as I need to buy some milk and if I am taking my injured foot out to the shop, I may as well have a diversion and go for a chat.

My friend is in!  Excellent!  Why hasn't she replied to my message?  She has recovered her old phone.  Forgot, or hasn't had time to mention it.  Teenager-related stress reigns in her house. I understand completely, I feel like I am living above a pair of thirty somethings going on thirteen.  We stop for a tea-break.  Stop from housework, preparations for the twenty something son's return from Uni and a general double complaining session in the garden.  Of course in the garden. The weather is virtually tropical.  SUUUUN!!!!

While we are having a little chat, a rest and a catch up, my son calls her son, they arrange to go for a BBQ.  Her son appears in the garden and announces that he has to walk in to town to meet up with someone (we both ignore the mystery, I ignore it less than her but we carry on).  Time is not a luxury and the wind is getting up so we head back indoors only to find the back door locked.  We are locked out.  My friend cannot phone her son, she has no credit.  I phone her son, no reply.  I phone my son who is dolling himself up in white shorts, white t-shirt, no socks and sunglasses outfit pre-bbq style.  He comes round and clambers under the fence, up a light aluminium ladder, hoofs across the roof tiles covering the kitchen and squeezes into the slimmest of gaps in the bathroom window.  I wasn't concerned about him, he has 6ft legs, a physical frame fit for dragging his body across random roofs. No problem.  He comes downstairs with dirty marks on his white outfit "I didn't know it was going to be dirty"  (main concern being the image, not the safety aspect). My friend says "I often get out there with my feather duster".  As only the mother of a pair of boys can. We all laugh, with relief that we are back indoors, safely, all in one piece.  My friend gives us a lift back to ours and I take advantage of being in a car and not walking and I hand my keys to my son so he can let himself back in.  I stay in the car to the shop that sells milk.

Are you seeing the second error of the day?  In the meantime my friend gives me her spare key. Oh good. There will be no more key dramas.  We part company.  My son and her son finally hook up and head out for an afternoon at a bbq in the sun.  Sitting indoors resting my foot with headphones on in order to get away from the music that is coming up from downstairs is too much for me by 6pm. So I decide I shall go to church for some peace and quiet.  I check my handbag for my keys.  Uh Oh.  No keys.  Where are they? Turns out my son let himself in and put the keys in his pocket.  He is now 3 miles away with both our keys in his shorts.  I can get out, but I can't get back in.  I am locked in.  Another phone call to my 777 friend and she comes round again with MY spare key and lets me in.

Two women, two teenage boys. How many rescues can take place in one day?

Happy Spring everyone xx

Subtlety of messages from spirit

I was born in 66, my bank account number has 666 in it, my mobile phone number had 3 sixes in, my son's mobile phone number has 3 sixes, my shopping amounted to 6.66 so many times as to become a joke.

I moved on to 777 when the number showed up in my work phone number, my gym locker, my best friends mobile phone number. Still, the number 666 popped up occasionally. Maybe because spirit knows I am dense and not likely to notice the occurrence of 7 when I was so used to the sixes? I don't know. I do know that numbers have significant meaning in my life.

Anyway, recently I was sent a sim card by a different mobile phone company. I moved home and my old mobile company were so unhelpful over the moving and changing my account that I decided to take up the offer of the new number. The new number having 888 on the end.

Bearing in mind my beliefs about the number significance I wondered if by contriving to move myself on to 888 would it have the same significance? I am the one choosing the 888 that has been offered to me, it hasn't happened by accident or coincidence, or has it?

I have had new business cards printed, everyone knows my new number. It hasn't rung since I have had it in three weeks (yes, friends have text me and I have used to it to call) but this particular number is not ringing for me the same way my old 666 number used to ring. The number is silent.

Sunday I headed for our local Spiritualist Church, the Medium Daniel Pitt was demonstrating clairvoyance and bringing through messages from spirit. I wasn't going to go to church this week because I had an exam on Tuesday and I wasn't sure I could spent the time. My family name is Pitt and I had a feeling there would be a message from someone and Daniel would be saying "it is something to do with my name", it was an image I had of him saying it.

Anyway, he gave his messages and then at the end he said he had someone that he didn't know who it was for, a young man who died, aged about 22 and was in a car accident. There was a woman at the back who said it was for her, another woman in the middle thought she could recognise the person too, Daniel had to identify which woman the message was for so he tried to get a name, he was standing on the podium saying 'it is something to do with my name'. Daniel.

The woman at the back said her one was called Daniel. The medium said that the boys' Mother is not in a very good place. She said "I am the Mother".

My heart broke for her. I tried not to cry. I can only imagine the pain. I steel myself and listen to his message. He is okay. It was an accident. He lost control.

I went home and studied for my exam.

A few days later it occurred to me that although I am falsely using the 888 number I have no idea if it really has any true meaning for me. So I dust off my sons school Bible. I flick to page 888. It is the book of Daniel.

I am stunned. When I go to church again I will pass this information to the grieving mother and hopefully because of my belief in spirit I may be able to bring her comfort in her time of despair.

I would not be at all surprised to find that the number 8 is significant for her or Daniel (and I have to go back to using my 666 number!

Love and Light to all of you who need it.
